That's right. It is like those who preach tolerance and acceptance as long as you think and act like them.

Well I sure as hell hope he doesn't make his students do word problems. I mean, my spelling and whatnot are FAR from perfect, but that paragraph was off the charts.
OP: That sucks that your neighbor is such a closed-minded ***. I drive a GM and all that, but I love foreign competition. It's part of what inspires America/ns to do better, I think! Without competition, rot sets in. |

I have a neighbor who's like that. Only owned American cars, mostly Chryslers from what I take: Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Magnum, Magnum SRT8, and now...dead broke with nothing. Hehe. But yeah, my neighbor is also a douche like that.

i'm American and i use paragraphs
seriously though, that sucks that you had a run in with your neighbors. i like talking to people who have different taste in cars. i can appreciate american cars and how they are different from imports. if someone busted my balls about not buying american, i would just shrug it off because honestly i don't care. So many 'American' corporations outsource all of their manufacturing overseas etc, so what is really 'American' made is pretty hard to determine. With certain products, if all the parts are made in another country, and it is assembled in the USA, the company can say it is American made. besides, us JDM guys stimulate the economy more with our grossly expensive aftermarket parts that cost way more than anything made for american cars for no particular reason. so go us. I judge cars based on the car itself, not where it is made. Unless its made in Korea, Yugoslavia, or Mexico Last edited by Jeffblue; 05-02-2011 at 11:31 AM. |

buying "american" is a joke. From USA today, percent of american cars made in america.
I laugh at people with the MUST BUY AMERICAN attitude, as they park their american car in a garage made completley from China products/manufacturing (along with almost everything else they own) General Motors Corp. I hate the whole "Buy American" nonsense. I buy whatever the hell I want to buy. I know on the 2011 Mustangs about 40% of the car is foreign. A lot of it is made by Hitachi and its subsidiaries.

yeah buyign "american" is kinda bull. Buying a Nissan keeps american's working too (the guys at the dealerships, shops etc) Its not a complete one way street.
Alot of them are assembled here. And lastly, ignorant *** bastards just dont understand what a global economy means and the fact that the US cannot and could never have been self sufficient. We need the trade, and to keep trade up we need to also purchase foreign items. Also, if for many many years, American products werent kinda crap and then also expensive due to *cough* unions *cough* it would help... P.S tell im hes unamerican for trying to take away your freedom's and choices. Follow that up with he should move to a communist country where people tell him what he can and cannot buy. He'll love that. |
