HomeLink problem - either Z or Murano, not both.

Just bought a 2011 370Z Touring Sport Coupe MT6 after 20 years of trucks. This is actually my 7th Z car, but the most recent prior was an 1982 S130ZT. I have loved the marque since 1969, but this 370Z is just an amazing refinement.

Anyway, I went to program the HomeLink transmitter for our Genie (Intellicode) garage door opener. It programs for the Z just fine, but once linked to the Z, it disables the Homelink in my wife's Murano on that same opener. If I then go back and reprogram the Murano, the Z is unlinked, and back-and-forth. I can't get the Homelink to work on both the Z and the Murano at the same time on this particular garage door opener.

To add to the confusion, all this reprogramming between the two Nissans has NO effect on the Homelink in my GMC Sierra -- it continues to work fine with that garage door. Additionally, I have no problem getting all three HomeLink units, Z, Murano, and GMC, to work with the Chamberlain garage door opener on my storage garage.

I realize it's kind of an obscure question, but it's irritating. All I get from the Nissan dealer is a blank look, and emailing the Genie company just gets me a form-letter email that provides the same programming instruction as in the Nissan owner's manuals.

Any of you have similar issues?

I did. I finally cleared all the codes out of the garage door opener and started over. That has worked so far.

Yup, that worked. As it turns out, Genie receivers can only accept 7 remote devices. The new Z was the 8th device with two of the other being previous cars we no longer own. Programming the Z deleted the next most recent, which was my wife's Murano. Reprogramming hers then knocked the Z off, etc etc etc. Clearing all the codes from the receiver and putting in just the 5 we need worked fine. Problem solved, thanks for the input.

I have the same G/door. I can't get mine to take either. How do you clear the G/door codes??

Normally you just hold the "Learn" button for a certain length of time - likely until the LED goes out.
