That seems really strange

In MD, you get temp tags valid for 30 days while the plates get mailed to you - usually within 2 weeks. Depending on the dealer you MAY get your permanent plates on the spot. I did when I bought my Z but it was one of the larger dealers in MD so that could be it.

Here in Texas you up pick them up at the dealership. unless you asked them to mail them to you.

if you can can get away with it tell them to leave off the front plates.
car looks better without em.

It varies state by state. In California the plates are mailed to the owner.

thank you guys.
I bought mine like 2 hours away from my home so
I guess I will tell them to mail it to me.
There is no way I'm going that far away again to pick my license plate up. :)

In CA you will wait more than a month for plates.

My plates were mailed to me from my dealer. Took about 2.5 weeks from date of purchase.

A dealer had to give me an extended temp sticker because it took 4.5 weeks to get my plates. This was a shady used dealer though and would not expect that from a full on dealership. They also received the plates and then mailed them to me. Not normal .. usually you go pick them up from the dealer here in Mn.

What's the rush? I've had plates for my "new" SUV now for months (hanging in my garage)
