Haven't taken the 370 to those speeds. But I can say that my 350 gets real loose above 100. The steering feels sloppy and the suspension seems soft at higher speed. The crazy part is my economy "fwd sporty compact" Celica GTS I had before I bought the Z tightened up past 80. It was stable right up to about 140 where it just didn't have the power to pull anymore... You can imagine how puzzled I was at how it felt. Maybe it's the weight of the car and the fact that there is no active suspension to stiffen as speed increases? Obviously, not a lot of time is spent at those speeds so it isn't a big deal, just surprising for a car of this caliber to feel that way. Sorry to hear that the 370 seems to have the same blemish. I do know autoX'ing the Z is a lot more work for me due to the weight. You can really feel it around the corners.

My Z felt perfectly stable at 140 at the track. But then... that's a track. There's really nowhere it would be feasible (or safe) on our California crappy roads otherwise. But also bear in mind I have coilovers and sways so maybe that plays a role as well.

I I have done 140 before while even going through a slight turn and the car was perfectly stable for me.
Now the 78' 280Z that I used to drive, that thing was unstable. Simply going over 105-110 and the front felt really light and felt like it had no stability. Nothing like how the 370z feels doing 140. |

our area has had a real issue with street racing in the past 10 years, especially before the 540 loop was opened to the public. the Z06 was a drug seizure to do traffic control and no its not entrapment. yes cops speed, 99% do and aside from getting his plate # and fighting the "good ole boy" system there is nothing you can do about it. over all they protect us a lot more than they speed and do great job that is very dangerous when there are no thank yous. a spirited run every now and then is ok, just keep your eyes open and stay as safe as possible. warbird pm'd about details.

I have driven my Nismo over 130 mph on track and it was solid as a rock. More so than any Porsche I have driven. The 370z has fairly long wheelbase compared to other sports cars which contributes to it's high speed stability. Porsche Cayman has wheelbase 5 inches shorter and 997 has even shorter wheelbase that is 8 inches less than the 370.
I'd be very concern about improper alignment or incorrect tire pressures if anyone feels intability in a Nismo. These cars are rock solid at high speeds if alignment and tire pressures are correct. Are the shipping spacers removed from your front springs?

No they don't, i would actually argue that 80% of them all jerks. All they do is sit around and hand out chicken poop tickets and act like everyone owes them something. Most of them are not the saint that they think they are. Matter of fact, I would argue that not many of them have IQs that are higher than a high school footballer player. Some of them might have started out with the intention of protecting the public, but then most joined because they want their egos stroked.
