Bought it Wednesday, wrecked it today...
140 miles on the odometer and she's already hurt...
The worst part I think is that I have no idea how it happened and it was so avoidable (I think). I drove 1 block from my house and stopped at the intersection (not really even an intersection). Looked both ways etc, turned left onto the road, and BAM. Didn't even see it til after I hit it. Hit this woman in the quarter panel. I have NO IDEA how I didn't see it, where she was coming from, how fast she was going, anything. She says she was just driving straight down that road. The A pillar (I think it is) may have blocked my view but I still should have seen her. Low speed, and a small amount of damage. Insurance will cover it with a cost to me of just $500 plus a loss of a $50 discount each 6 months. I hope it can be fixed to be invisible. |

Ouch, that sucks dude... At least it is not that bad though... you could even go with an aftermarket bumper if you want, just throwing it out there

ouch... man that sucks. i have to say, the dumbo ears (sidemirrors) do blind the view considerably.
if you're short and have problems seeing, you might want to consider doing the modshack seat mod. |

Whoops. I did the same thing many years ago, just cruising along minding my own business, thought I had looked but apparently not very well and turned right into the side of someone coming the other way.
Aside from a couple of spots of missing paint I would think that most of that would actually buff out if you can pop the panel out straight again. Although it looks a little cockeyed down by the tip of the headlight.

One thing to remember when driving this car is always stay 90 degrees to roads to ensure you can see oncoming traffic on the right. If you turn ever so slightly left trying to pull out at a intersection/driveway the right side seat will block your vision and you cannot see out the little side window which is what I am assuming you are talking about and not the a piller in the front. If you are talking about the a piller then you are just a crappy driver and should only make right turns from here on out. Good thing is you are ok and like others said you can go with a aftermarket bumper or just purchase one from someone on here. there is one front bumber a week posted on here. Stay safe and just think you do not have to still worry about putting that first scratch on her.

lol, yeah i was talking about the pillar upfront. i dunno that it blocked my view, i'm just throwing out guesses.
For the little side window, I keep the passenger seat moved forward so I can see out of that tiny thing haha |

I'm 5'10" and I had to move the seat vertically upward a bit to get a much better clear view of things.
What I do noticed, I really cannot drive this car lazily as I lose a lot of view space due to the height of the chair and car. |

You car will lose value because of the accident. Make sure to file a diminished value claim through your insurance so you can recoup some of the value that you will lose.

At least you're not hurt and didn't hurt the lady. Take it as a lesson learned and just be more careful. It could have been someone on a motorcycle...like me.

I've noticed the windshield mounted rear view mirror can really block things. I've almost hit pedestrians a few times as the mirror is right in my line-of-sight when I'm looking at the sidewalk corner on my right. I try to make a habit to lean forward or hunch down to check what's behind the mirror before I roll out.
