How is there not a class action against Nissan yet? Anyone want to step up?

Due to time constrain, I decided to wait until tomorrow before I fill up since 40 miles margin seems plenty. The 240 miles estimate was based on highway miles, which was the only thing I did! Apparently the estimate wasn't even in the ballpark as the car was screaming for gas 35 miles before my arrival. With 35 miles to go, the 60 miles warning came on. Within 10 miles, the estimate went from 60 to zero!!! Of course this had to happen in the middle of no where and during a thunderstorm. After a nerve-wrecking 20 miles drive, I finally was able to find a gas station. How can a gas gauge be off by this much? I understand most gauges are not linear, but who the f would design a gauge that would accelerate near the end?!?

Let's not even get me started about the fuel starvation with 1/4 tank gone on right turns!

Since Nissan won't come up with a fix, can someone step up and sue these SOBs!!!

Wow, I cannot believe you could complain about such an obvious mistake on your part...never believe any guage until you can prove it's validity.

Perhaps your guage is just one of a million.

I would never take a chance of running out of fuel especially in desolate places

Next time take a few extra minutes off and top off your tank.

A gauge that is off by a gallon/20miles, whatever. One that is off by 2 or 3 gallons? Give me a break. Heck, it doesn't even work when you are at the track unless you have more than 3/4 tank.

in all fairness though, if you punch the gas the car will obviously eat more gas and mpg to empty has no meaning. now consider weight in vehicle, driving conditions, etc.

Those are separate issues.

In case you missed the question, how much gas did you have to put in to fill up>?

Cossie, if you feel so strongly about it, why not initiate legal action yourself? Why ask someone else to do what you can do yourself?

That lawsuit was ligitimate. The amount she was awarded, was not however.

McDonald's, in an effort to pinch every penny (at least that one store) was superheating old coffee that should have been changed out for fresh coffee in an effort to boost revenue by keeping and serving old coffee. It may seem like a small amount but over time and "billions and billions served", even small change turns big in a hurry. Anyway.. had the bish spilled fresh (normal temp) coffee in her lap, she might have gotten burned but most likely not to the extent that she did with the nuclear brew that hit her lap that morning. Did she deserve the 20 mil or whatever it was? No but just sayin...

A better example of frivolous lawsuit to use would be the one where that guy trespassed into that other dudes backyard in an effort to rob his place and got bit by the dog that was chained to the tree and sued the owner... and won.

In my opinion the only valid beef is concerning the fuel starvation taking very hard right turns considering it happens with fuel level still pretty high. Otherwise its on you.

Yep. It always drives me nuts when people reference that McD's lawsuit without understanding what actually happened.
