No Respect

No, this isn't a Rodney Dangerfield throwback...

I took one of my workmates to lunch today down to the local Mexican eatery. This place is great! They make their own nacho chips fresh each day!

Anyways, while the food is great..the parking lot isn't. It's mainly composed of dirt.

I REALLY don't like having to park my freshly detailed car in dirt.

Anyways, we come out of the restaurant, I slide into the seat sideways and begin to beat my shoes together to get as much of the dirt off as possible... My workmate climbs in as I'm vigorously ridding my shoes of what dirt I can and he just plops his size 13 loafers right down in the floorboards..fully laden with dirt and debris! I'm like WTF man?!

I am ALWAYS conscious of other people's belongings...generally moreso than I am of my own....and to have this disrespect and utter lack of regard for something that I cherish so much really told me something about this fellow. He won't be riding in my car again anytime soon.

I always make sure to give everyone the "how to enter and exit my car" speech before I let someone ride in the Z. Starting with watching your feet as you bring them in the car to NOT kick anything. And the next thing is to NOT slam the door. Man that really makes me made when they slam the door.

I totally understand what you mean. During the winters in Wisconsin. People just get into the car while scooping in a bunch of snow.

One of my coworkers did that once ... and that was the last that coworker got to ride in my car.

Another one that pisses me off is when I park in the back of the parking lot and the passenger says "do we have to park way back here?" No you fat fuckin lazy american, you can drive next time and park wherever the hell you want.

Last summer I was driving a lady friend home from a local wine fest. She was a little toasty. I had the top down and pulled into a Tim Hortons so she could grab a coffee.

Just before we were about to leave, a jeep full of teens pulled in beside us and they started raving about my car. My lady friend jumps up onto my seat with her dirty outdoor-million-people-trampling-the-grass-winefest shoes on to talk with the people in the jeep...

Funny, it was the last time she has rode in my car...
