Xan - nothing against Lotus, but I'm personally not a fan. Thank you for the input, though.

Well, I wouldn't all the GT-R "lightweight", as it weighs 3,900 lbs...but I do like the idea of mixing it up.

Great points. However, both a Z06 and the M3 will feel like dogs compared to my GT-R. So it really comes down to which one will be more liveable day to day. The M3 is a much better built car overall, but the Z06 is a great performer that actually gets damn good MPG at highway speeds.

The more I think about it, the more I think the choice gets narrowed down between a Z06 or M3. But a '11 Mustang GT also comes to mind, as I think it falls nicely in-between the two. Can't beat the price either...

I still want to drive a NISMO 370, but I can't find any for sale nearby at this moment.

I think the new 1 Series M that's coming out would be a more trackable/fun car than the M3. There's also the Boss Mustang.

Thanks for the post. The ZR1 crossed my mind, but at that price-point, I'd rather go with a 997 GT3.

If I go Z06, it'll be used for sure. I never purchase brand-new, high-end cars.

he said he already had a car to go fast in if he wanted to. the m3 is a lot nicer imo than the z06 plus u dont see them nearly as often. if you think the m3 is a dog compared to the z06 look at youtube videos of m3's with a horsepower freaks turbo. it would bust any z06's ***.

Yeah, but if you go FI with a Z06 it should beat the M3 considering it's considerably lighter.

Test drive them all! Also what are you looking for, a DD? Personally I'd be looking at the viper, if it were doable..

Agree that they aren't pussy cars, but the HPF cars are for E46 only (I would want an E92). Also, even the fastest Stage 3 or higher HPF M3s aren't any faster than my S/C'd C6 Z06 was at only 722 rwhp....which wasn't really all that fast. They have very bad traction issues, and they seem to have a problem with exploding motors. No thanks.

They do. But actually their fastest car to date is a Stage 2.5 (I'm very familiar with the cars). The Stage 4 just blows its tires off since you can't fit anything big back there. Not a good platform for big power, IMO.

And yes, quite a few blown motors lately. But that's supposed to be a secret.
