Default Cost of installation of car parts.

I know I'm usually charged per hour of labour but lets say I have alot of mods prepared for installation, should I expect some kind of better deal? Also, what would be reasonable to install:

Wheels + new tires
Swift Springs
Invidia Gemini exhaust
Fog light
GTR button
HPS silicon tubes
Preparation + Installation of the Amuse kit

Don't expect a better deal. Some of those you can do easily on your own. Look in the DIY section. Otherwise, it's going to cost a pretty penny.

Well few notes, if the wheels come with the tires mounted already just do it yourself. If not find a shop with a touchless tire mounting machine. A list is HERE from Tire rack. Just imput your zip, and a list will pop up, make sure to read the notes about each shop tho to see who has what equipment. If you do it yourself 80 ft lbs is the torque, you can get a cheaper wrench at like harbor freight or something and its always good to have the tq wrench.

The GTR button took me 30min to complete following the DIY posted HERE + rep to Triple's!

Again the exhaust is an easy swap, jack the car up and pull off the old exhaust. However this requires a bit more tools but any shop that charges more than .5 hours of labor for it is taking you for a ride. Its a very very easy swap. Especially if they have a lift.

As for the rest im not too sure, the springs swap in the back is easy, but the front requires a little more work. Still easy just more involved. I wont really comment on the rest, its been forever since ive had to get an after-market kit painted and fitted.

Hope this helps!

Helps alot guys! I just copied a pasted a list of mods that I wanted to get, scratch the GTR button out.

I will most likely not be installing the exhaust on my down, I have nothing to jack it up and I have no confidence in doing that myself. Especially reading about the demon bolts haah

The best way to approximate work is by asking them how long would it take to do the work. And then get an idea of how much they pay the guy doing the work.
Multiplier*$/hr*hr=~install cost

Multiplier depends on they level of skill of the worker needed.
usually between 1.5 to 3

Amuse, it depends on the shop you go to. A few of the mods (GTR, Fog light, Silicon tubes) you listed below can be easily done on your own. Some may not agree with this, but for me at least, I've found it to be cheaper getting work done at a trusted and reputable shop; get it done once, get it done right, in case of issue, you can bring it back to have corrected at no extra charge. Springs work ($200 - $350 depending if you are getting the camber kit done as the same time), exhaust ($100), Wheels (about $60-$100 for mounting + Alignment costs). Good luck.

If you know a Midas that works on modified cars often, thats a good option for install. They'll charge you 1hr of labour. Worth it imo, maybe hit the canadian section and see if the other Tdot guys have places they'd recommend

Don't go to Midas, after having to deal with them. I quickly reliezed the lack of experience & poor workmanship at most Midas stores. Try to find a nicer shop, pref one with an alignment machine. The GT-R button will take you like 5-10 min tops to install & the hps tubes will be easy as well. The exhaust will cost about $100-$120 anything more they are overcharging you. Since it's only new springs, I'd say the install price would be $200-$400.

Midas is a ripoff and they don't do good work. They want $300+ to install an exhaust on a Z.

Wheels + new tires --
if the tires are on already, figure .5 hrs for install. This is really easy to do on your own though
Swift Springs Figure 3-4 hours of labor.
Invidia Gemini exhaust Should be about 2 hours of labor at most shops. Figure $120-200
Fog light This will vary widely depending on how well they know the car and such. This is another one worth doing yourself.
HPS silicon tubes .5 hours max.

Unfortunately for you, none of these guys have much overlap, which is where you usually see a discount.

I got a deal from a shop near by. They liked the idea of modding a new car and charged about half their usual rate when they had down time. They came, picked up the car and returned it after each mod. It took 6-7 weeks to get the intakes done put cheap and convenient. I also threw in a case of whatever beer they wanted.

Thanks guys, repped most of y'all, im on recharge though.

The EVO-R looks complicated to hook up, and I thought since I was going to remove the bumper anyway (Amuse kit), might as well get em to hook it up for me.

Yikes "you" definitely were getting ripped off.

I paid for the hour of labour, which was $80, but also people love my face so I get things for cheap

Exhaust was done perfectly and as mentioned, this particular one has done 370's but i'll agree, not all shops are created equal
