What's up everyone,

Got some pics of our new project Z getting dropped off earlier this week. We know the members here are already familiar with it, as it is in an upcoming movie (can't be specific / not hard to figure out), and we know most are not too happy with how the car turned out or how it is portrayed and what not. Anyways, we were not permitted to make the creative decisions when the car was built the first time around, so Paul thought it would be cool to give the car a redo and really build it up right.

So over the next couple of months we will be going through the car, documenting what was previously done, which isn't much, and then building it into something real Z enthusiasts can be proud of.

Can you elaborate on that?

And is Paul actually paying for this and is this going to be his own car? Or is it going to be sold at an auction or something?

Meh, it's basically a movie prop, I don't think it is a big deal that it didn't really have FI. I'm just wondering about the "how it was portrayed" line.

Yeah, just meant lack of screen time, lack of mods, etc.

Paul owns it, we are building it. Not sure about his plans for it beyond that, but I doubt he'd sell it at an auction.

One thing they did have to change on the car for functionality in the movie though, which was pretty cool, was an LSD. This car is a base model, open diff, so to keep the car sideways for the shot they wanted they had OS Giken send them a couple diffs.

Ah okay, I hadn't heard the "lack of screen time" complaint before. That's a bummer, as I thought it would be his main car. Glad to know this before hand, I would of had my hopes up.

Looking forward to see what you guys do with it. Is he going to be stopping by to discuss mods and the cars progress at all? Or is he being "hands off"?

It seems like the movie's budget was pretty low. From the Import Tuner magazine article, they borrowed most of the high-end cars (aka couldn't do anything crazy to them). It also mentioned the GTR had a pretty short cameo.

They always borrow the cars. It's how every F&F movie has been done.

I think he is pretty psyched about it. We have the white Z which we built as an enthusiast class car, so it was pretty mild. So he wants to step it up on this build. We have already gone over the plans so next is documenting the current parts then building it.

Well this sucks.. Now I have to hate Paul for 2 reasons.
1. He's made out with Jessica Alba
and now
2. His Z is faster then mine.

Actually we just moved to a new building in Valencia, CA. So we are just north of LA now, about an hour away from the old Chino shop.

Well it's not faster yet, haha. FI is still pretty limited for the 370's so we are exploring other FI options as of right now.

We haven't been able to figure out the foil covered tips, but we're guessing it has something to do with exhaust pyrotechnics

frigging bastards just butchered that car. hood is aligned wrong, fake *** mods. Damn car is riced out. Man i hope you guys fix all this because that poor car deserves better imo. They could have asked someone for the real thing, as far as borrowing since it pretty much just sits there in the movie.

Nice to see that Paul wants the car and wants it built right, due us proud!

We definitely want to step it up and put in the attention it needs. We just watched the new trailer as well which shows a quick snip it of the car getting sideways in a warehouse or something. So at least it sees some action and isn’t just sitting around the whole time.

We are on it, I think everyone is going to like what he’s come up with.

We were back and fourth with locations, but we found a great spot here in Valencia. One of the coolest things about it is the amount of brand new Z34’s I see driving around everywhere. Seems like there is a big 370Z following up here.

Saw the movie last night and AE Performance was in a few spots in the film.

Pretty cool that he wears the shirt.

I think some extra publicity is good for the 370z, regardless of whether it comes in the form of Fast Five. The Z is pretty underrated in all regards, maybe this will earn it some extra street cred!
