Are you a Nissan guy/girl?
I have some friends who are pretty hardcore chrysler/mopar dudes. I don't really have a specific love to any brand or hate to any either. That got me thinking if my love for my new 370z(which i've only had for like a month) will convert me into a nissan guy. Is anyone here a nissan guy/girl and what reason are you one? Did the greatness of the 370z make you come to love all that is Nissan? :tiphat:
|
I was a Acura guy, owned 4 of their cars over the years, but no cars in the lineup that fit me anymore, So when I get my Z it could very well make me a Nissan guy I suppose...
|
I'm not really brand loyal. I'm a Ford fan for sure but it's the product that really matters to me, not the brand. I guess you could say I'm just a car guy. :)

Although I think I may be a bit of a Nissan guy. I like the general philosophy they use with most of their cars. IMO they have one of the best overall combo of looks, performance, quality, and price. I'm talking about cars like the Z, GT-R, Maxima, Altima, and Infiniti's as well. |
i am a charburger and cheezefries guy. :yum:
|
Nissan guy for life! Loved the ZX from the time I owned it and presently own two other Nissan products... hopefully not the last ones. I guess the great value to price ratio, plus excellent quality & design for Nissan products make me settle with this brand almost all the time. It got old real quick paying $500 oil change for Mercedes for service A every 3 months yuck!
|
I sure notice Nissans a lot more than I used to before I had my Z. Before the Z I was on a huge Honda kick.
|
I'm not really brand loyal. As long as it's quality-built and not North American "Big-3". And of course, not cheaply made junk (aka Kia's, Hyundai's, etc.).
|
a Z guy
I used to be a Toyota guy, till I got the Z; still like Toyotas however not sure If I call my self a Nissan guy, maybe a Z guy :driving:
Since every time I am approaching the Z its like :happydance: |
I'm really a Chevy guy. But all I have is an ex-race motor looking for a home in my garage. Sold my Corvettes. I have a Titan as my winter vehicle, a Mitsu Eclipse as summer car, and ofcourse my Z as weekend, show, going anyplace but work car. I used to own a 280Z that I put a Chevy motor in. Never completed the project and traded it for the Mitsu. I do love Vettes and Camaros but I bought the Z when Chevy wouldn't commit to a vert Camaro. And yes I'm very happy with my modded Z.:ughdance:
|
I'm Just a Gearhead.
|
I have only owned Nissans. Two Pathfinders (both totalled by me), a Sentra (given to my soon to be ex-wife), currently have a 2010 Murano for my winter beater and of course the 40TH Anniversaty 370Z. I liked Nissans before I decided I wanted a Z.
|
The 300zx is what made me a Nissan guy and have been one ever since.
|
I'm a bit of a Nissan guy. I've got a Maxima with 140,000 and no troubles at all. I'm in love with my Z, and will likely purchase a redesigned Frontier or Titan in the future, (hoping for a torque monster diesel). The VQ30DE in "Maxine" started the love affair though. I've always been a huge fan of Nissan VQ's, and feel they're a great mix of power and reliability.
|
Always loved them. My dad had a 72 240 so I always grew up loving the history. This is my second Z and third Nissan. My truck has over two hundred thousands miles no problems ever. Still on stock clutch.
|
I started with a 2004 Titan and I loved it so much and so did my girlfriend that we traded in her Neon for 2004 Pathfinder. We still have the Pathfinder but I traded in the Titan for the Z. I love my Nissans. My brother has a Benz that is falling apart. My father has a Ford that sucks. My mother has a GTI that is nice, but I'll keep with my Nissans for now. I believe they have something that appeals for every application that I would need. I already have an itch for another Titan and also a 2012 GTR, which is out of the question right now, but soon enough. Luckily we don't have kids so when that happens then the GTR might come soon than I thought but perhaps I'll get a Maxima or Titan Crew Cab.
|
Toyota, I guess.
Maybe in a year or so I'll have to open my heart to their Scion brand :ugh: |
2001 Maxima, 2003 Murano, 2007 Maxima, 2009 370Z, 2010 Cube.
Plus the wife's 78 280z project car. Always had good luck with Nissans.. |
Not really - more of a sports car guy...
Toyota MR-2 SC, Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, Acura NSX, Nissan 370Z |
fan of quick agile cars

I worked at a parts store for awhile. Our manager maintained that he didn't care whether it was Ford, Chevy, Chrysler as long as it was fast (his dad built and drag raced his own cars) |
I'm usually partial to Hondas, but have been slowly starting to move to Nissans (see my sig). However, when we're ready to replace our CR-V (only 48K miles), it will probably be another CR-V, not the Rogue.
|
I've owned Nissans (and Datsuns) from time to time over the past 40 years and they've always been excellent cars. Every time I buy a different brand, I wonder why afterward and come back to Nissan. When I wanted an upscale sports car to go with my Miata, the thought of some exotic item scared me with prospects of huge bills. I knew if it was a Nissan, I'd have no aggravation and maintenance would be minimal and affordable---after all, it's a Nissan! How right I was---so far, anyway.

In the american car segment ford ftw. in the imports honda forsure but they just dont make a good or any for that matter rwd vehicle. The nissan to me are the only one's willing to be bold , plus the Z is damn sexy.
|
I was always a chevy guy, (1st car was a camaro), also owned an 89 K-5 Blazer (still miss that rig) and had a 70 chevelle for a while too.
Got married and my wife converted me to the nissan fold a while ago. Her first car was a 73 240z so her love of the Z car goes way back. I guess we're a die hard nissan family now. |
My forum name says it all - this is my 9th Z.
I'm also a Subaru Fan. I've had 3 Subies: Outback Sport - Impreza-based transportation, but really liked it Legacy GT, very hot - loved it - traded it for my current Z New Outback - I have this currently, really love this ride!!! |
I'm a car guy and not really loyal to any brand. I actually typically don't really like Nissan's offerings.
|
It's harder to be a devout follower of a maker than it is to love a certain model. I loved my MR2 but toyota sucks the life out of fun with their entire remaining line up. Subaru, fun cars (WRX) but dang ugly or bland everywhere else. Nissan, the cube... really? Thank you for the Z, GTR, G series coupes, and even the Altima coupe (front drove bastard!).
I think you have to be thankful that each maker takes a chance and markets/sells some real sport models every so often. Honda S2000 in a long line of snoozeville rides. Hyundai's genesis coupe... Not including german competition (Caymen, TTrs, BMW 1 series) Really, there wasn't much to choose from in the mid $30k realm that offered the performance and features that the Z does for 2011 for 2 seater sports cars. |

It maybe retarded but I really started liking Nissan after the GTR in gran turismo. I started looking more into the company and liked what they offered. I went to votech Nissan specific class for 2 years and worked in a dealer for another. I decided that cars are a better hobby that profession for myself. I have a CA18det powered 89 240sx project car that ate a turbo after 1500miles(cheap rebuilt turbo not Nissan's fault). A 95 240 with a 375hp 350sbc project car (head gasket). And my first new car the 370. I am not really that brand loyal. If it a good product I can appreciate it. As far as older cars I really like chevy and will always dislike Mopar. I do like direct Ford is going.
|
I work on BMW's and like alot of what we produce but Ive owned a L30, B15, Z33, S13, S14 and now a Z34. I like Nissans and I wouldnt mind getting another 240 or older sentra(probably B13 or B14) as a daily so my Z can save her miles.

Hell yeah. Though I have owned other brands as well, I mainly owned NISSAN. I've owwned 98 240sx se,98 nissan altima SE 06 g35 coupe sport, 08 altima 3.5se,09 G37S coupe and now my 09 370z base sport. I'm hoping to pick up a new 11 juke or 2.5 altima to go with my Z.
My wife wants to throw in the new 11 focus or chevy cruze in the mix of choices. I'm still leaning toward Nissan but we'll see??? I test drove the new cruze ltz and focus titanium 5 door. And I have to admit they are better than any low 20's car nissan has in features. But nissan usually always wins in performance. Nissans are almost always extremely fun to drive with the exception of versa and sentra. Anyway, of the two the focus performance was very sharp. The dct shifted nicely but was missing a little torque compared to nissan 4bangers and you shift the car with a little button switch on shifter. That made it corny. There is still just enough torque in the focus to get by in real life driving and its taut suspension makes it sporty and funI'm saving the juke test drive for last. I'm hoping my wife likes it due to her being used to nissan ergonomics... its her decision. As long as I have my Z its all good :) The cruze was really nice on the interior. It's near luxurious and iit floated like a 70's caddy, yet handled like a modern sporty coupe. It was weird but cool mix. Lol. Torque was almost nowhere. Acceleration was subpar for its price range as a 4 banger and on par with a versa. the engine sounds were extremely smooth and refined. Its a very well engineered car but underpowered for dallas highways. Maybe in NYC where you are doing 35mph 85% of the time a cruze would work? Still my wifes decision. |
I'd consider myself a Z Guy, but when it comes down to it I'll always be a Ford Guy
|
Yeah I am definitely a Z guy I guess. I have always liked them. I want a 240Z with a Chevy 350 crate motor. :D
|
I never set out to be brand loyal, but right out of high school I got a 280Z. Because I was hanging around Datsun shops I was offered cheap B210's as I delivered pizzas in them to get through college.
Years later I bought a 300ZXtt and drove that until the 370. Inadvertently I became a Datsun/Nissan guy, or is it simply the cost for a great car. The 300zx was $45,000 while the NSX was $90,000 back in 1995. Now the 370 competes with cars considerably more expensive all while delivering Jap dependability. It is a tough combination to beat. If Nissan drops manual transmissions I will be disloyal for sure. |
I have to disagree that the S2k was the first entertaining Honda :)
Not counting the NSX, the Prelude Si was a pretty cool car. But for sure Toyota and Honda are boring today, and could use some excitement. |
Defintily a Nissan guy with a Nissan fiance (soon to be wife)
Between the two of us: 1 1992 Nissan 300zx Slicktop (Track Car) 1 1992 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo 1 1992 Nissan 300zx 2+2 (Her car) 1 1993 Nissan 300zx Non Turbo (part car - resto project) 1 1982 Datsun 720 4x4 (resto project) Plus I have the JDM 300zx Nose emblem Tattoo'ed on my back. ....sooo yeah. Definitly hardcore Nissan fan. But I do love my '06 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins Diesel (only full size truck I will ever own. Not a big fan of the Titan) Plus I work at Z1. You have to be hardcore Nissan fan to work here! |
i'm a classic GM guy, other wise Nissan.
|
Trucks wise, I'm a Dodge man. Cars, was a Pontiac man until it took a DUMP. I was actually in the process of getting a G8GT... (The actual paperwork process) when Pontiac went Dump, and the financing went, got , absolutelly RETARDED. The salesman was like "we can't work this". I was like..."Well, Bye! They had a Nissan Stealership right next to'em. He goe's "you like ta go fast huh, wanna try a Z". I was offended that he though that I would even be interested in anything but American Muscle(yea,I know the G8 is Austrilan, but they believe in V8's just like americans do Down Under). Being the Tall Cool One, that I am, I responded "sure, why not"... AND THE REST IS HISTORY. This car was Sold on the first corner I took, I did'nt even realize it was a V6, it sounded odd, but pissed off...and PULLIN!!! I was a total virgin to Imports... Now, I'm a WHORE!!!!!
