Blue flame out my exhuast...
Well my co-workers tell me that when we are leave out from work at night that when I shift a small blue flame comes out of my exhaust! I'm going to try to video tape this tomorrow night. I know the car is running rich. I have Gen 3 intakes, Z1 test pipes and Greddy Ti-C exhaust with no tune yet. Is anyone else experiencing this? I hope when I get a tune it does not go away. lol

With test pipes and a straight-through muffler you can get some flames on high-rpm shifts. It's a little bit of unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust pipes.
When I ran an off-road X-pipe and Magnaflows on my old 2003 Mustang GT I had the flames as well. |
Yeah I figured it was a mix of the pipes and the car running rich. I know I have seen some old hot rods with the spark plugs tapped into the exhaust with a power pack on a switch. Rev to 4k and push the button and you will get one heck of a flame from all the unburnt fuel

Flames are cool.

Shouldn't you be running lean with upgraded intake and exhaust?

You get a flame pretty much anytime you are running TPs and a straightforward exhaust. When you're turbo, during the BOV cycle, you can get some pretty intense flame action.

Did you get the Bat-drive option? Like the Batmobile has? It could explain it.
