So......How often do you hit the Rev limiter??

I am amazed at how fast this thing revs when you blow the tires off. I test drive for a living and this thing is hard to beat to the limiter:) I have found that by the time you hit 6k rpm and shift it is already bumping!
I've got 2k miles on it now and it's getting stronger and getting better mileage. Other than the noise I'm digging it!

i take it to redline about once a day

Red__Zed 04-13-2011 03:21 PM

What do you test drive for a living?

jaedub 04-13-2011 03:25 PM

I redline it maybe 2-3 times a week.

6MT 04-13-2011 03:31 PM

I've only hit it about 6 times in two years.

I don't know how many times it actually hits the rev limiter. I've missed second twice so maybe then and possibly one or two more. Now redline on the other hand, it sees that at least once a day

is hitting the rev limiter a bad thing? Isn't it there for a reason...

It is not a bad thing; a rev limiter is set at a conservative enough level so that running the engine to that point will not have any negative effects. You can safely go higher to an extent, many here have tunes allowing 8,000+rpm and have no issues.

I hit mine a couple times a week depending on how much I drive, gotta work her out!

kenchan 04-13-2011 04:38 PM

i redline my Z on occassion, but dont hit the limiter.

"How often do I hit the rev limiter?"

never
