You would put a baby in a cheap beater without any of the modern safety features, with the additional risk of the car breaking down in the extreme heat or cold as well? Just so you get to drive a sports car?

Thank you. I traded in 2 beaters. I wanted something nice, safe, comfy for my new baby. But also something fun for myself. Trust me I didn't want to get rid of the nismo but if I had to trade it in on an suv this is the one I would want. Thanks for all the support guys

Whats the gas milage like on the SRT-8? Those are nice! My friend had one and loved it. He did have issue's with the transfercase though. Keep an eye on it if yours is AWD.

Congrats.... but just to clarify, you traded in 3 vehicles for a used SRT8? Nismo, lincoln, and Focus?
Just my 2 cents, but couldn't you have traded in the lincoln and focus and ponied up a little cash to get a decent, safe, and reliable used SUV while still keeping your Nismo? Wife and I have a 2009 odyssey for her, 2002 civic for me, and the Z for me as well I did the opposite, when kid was born, I bought the Z instead of selling it

Parenthood is a life changer, but well worth it. Isn't it crazy that you traded for something with 3 extra seats, but about 4 tenths faster to 60? There's always room for another Z later in life. Good luck with everything.

But again, to each his own. I don't have any issue for what you did... do what makes you happy. And from the sounds of it, you are... which I am glad. I don't mean any disrespect. I am just saying, for me, I wouldn't have traded it in...

Congrats...not trying to be a douche or anything. But I woulda kept the Z and leased a 2.5 altima for 0 down and 199 a month or something in that nature till I was able to buy another vehicle of my choice. The residual is really high on altimas and on year end they practically give them away on lease... also they average around 28mpg combined.
An SRT8 jeep gets like 12city 17highway. And are highly known for transmission and electrical failures. They have a very low reliability rating. Its a extremely risky buy and a money pit. But anyway... I hope that is not your experience and I do wish you well. Good luck and may your baby be blessed in this life. |
