370z msrp up again!!!

The Z usually goes up around mid year about 200 bucks. Well it looks like nissan decided to raise prices 2 months early and the jump is now around $600. How the price of a car goes up when its selling less by the year is beyond me??? But its an entertaining thought none the least.
I'm guessing the refreshed Z will be starting at $31,995??? I'm guessing the price hikes are generally to pay for the Z refresh? Though I won't be buying a refreshed Z I'm hoping for dct transmission and direct injection. Hopefully a really good tune to pull another 38hp and a sub 13 quarter mile time. 12.7 or 12.8 would be nice.

Roger that.

The value of the yen has been going up a lot relative to the dollar the past few years. I bet that is also part of the reason behind the price increases. I've read news stories about how it has significantly cut the profits of Toyota. So, Nissan is probably experiencing similar issues.

The 370Z is pure sex! It is hot, loud, and rough!

Should be a little change to the front bumper like they did to the 350.

I got to go with fat chance.

They are just trying to keep up with rising prices of fuel which affects all facets of their business as well as currency fluctuations. I'm sure the disaster in Japan is hurting them a lot but the extent of that damage is not seen yet.

IMO any major changes that were planned for the 2012 model year might be held off until 2013 or later just to give Nissan a chance to assess the damage and begin to recover from it.

Shoot... then at least an ecu tune and give the regular Z the nismo tune and just give the nismo the extra goodies at least. Genesis coupe is looking at over 340 horses and it just won't look right if we don't at least get that boost.
I know that most likely the 340+ horses won't help it beat the Z without new suspension, tires and better transmissions but still. The tranny is being changed for sure so... they will gain on us. Without a power increase, we will be screwed. The camaro is getting a new v6 that's like 60lbs lighter and has like 340hp and matching torque.
On a better note though I did see 370z spank a GTO and camaroSS via you tube... lol not bad for half the displacement.:happydance:

IMO, it's just the effect of the American dollar's lower buying power year after year.

Japanese sportbikes are going through the same thing.

Macroeconomics

It would be good for current owners if prices go up

and if Nissan decides to move the price point higher

and make fewer faster future Z's that would be great

How often have MSRP's trended downward, even among domestic brands?
