Air Conditioner Noise
Just took the Z out of hibernation yesterday and started to hear a new noise today. When I turn my air conditioner on, I hear a weird noise from the glove box area, almost like something is hitting something else. It's sounds almost like if you put a piece of paper against the spinning blades of a fan, it's a steady tsk tsk tsk tsk sound... but really fast. The speed of the air coming out doesn't seem to change how fast the sound is, which is kind of weird. I also turned the air conditioner off and just had air blowing out of the vents, and it still made the sound. It doesn't matter if the air is blowing on your feet or through the defrosting vents, it still makes the sound. The only time it stops is when I turn the air off completely.
I'm not sure if some stupid animal decided to move in for the winter and wreaked havoc somewhere in my car... I looked inside the engine bay pretty good and don't see anything really out of place. But like I said, it sounds like it's coming from the other side of the glove box... it's really annoying. Just checking to see if anyone else had a similar issue.

I'd recommend you remove the glove box and check out the blower fan. The AC blower is behind the glove box. Follow the DIY for removing the glove box. Essentially, you open the glove box and pull upwards on the door to pop it loose. Then you disconnect the tension cord on the left side (pop out the rivet that holds it). The box itself is held in place by 3-4 screws across the top, one on either side, and one more deep in the mid-right-back (look for others, but I think that's it). Then the whole assembly just pulls out. You'll be looking at the white plastic of the blower and the filter door is just above it. Try pulling the filter and seeing if some leaves or debris fell into the fan.

do your temp adjustments work? if not, than your problem is the blend door motor or the outside air vent motor. It would seem much less likely to be the blower if the speed of the sound doesnt change with the fan speed. The motors are known to get stuck on many many many vehicle after sitting.
