I subscribe to R&T , C&D , and Motortrend. Guess what they all thought about the new Z after a month of research I pulled the trigger

Well my aunt had a 240Z, oldeer cousin 260Z Mom had a 83 280ZX and my older brothers had 280ZX's, 300ZX's and later Maxima's. Fell in love with them since, had mix of Z's and Maxima's since 89.

I had originally settled on a Mustang because there were no good 35-40k sports cars that I wanted. Then the new Camaro SS came out, which I did like quite a bit, but still never got off my butt to go drive one. Then I saw the new 370z in a comparison video of a Genesis v Mustang v Z. I remember digging around for every video and review I could find of the Z that weekend, that's how I ended up here actually. I went to a dealer the next week and dropped down a deposit.
I'd never considered a Z because I didn't like the way the 350 looked. The rear end was too long, and the only thing that balanced it out was if you dropped a huge FnF style wing on the back of it, so yeah...never considered it. I wasn't aware of the 370z until I saw the video, which I was watching only to see if the Genesis was worth a crap. So yeah, the Hyundai Genesis actually led me to my Z. So it actually was worth a crap I guess... |

I was driving a 97 taures and my dad had a 2003 mustang.. i somehow convinced him he needed a new car so he gave me the mustang and came home with the orange colored 350. I loved it... he was in an accident which left the orange z totalled and him unscathed.. nissan was good enough to get him a brand new 350 in silver with orange seats. Again i fell in love and wanted one of my own.. i patiently waited till i could afford a 350. I tried again to convince my dad he needed a new car, and again i succeeded. Except this time the silver Z went to my mother!! He brought home a pearl whitr 370 and from then on i had to have one. I saved and saved and caught a deal on a 40th and jumped all over it. Now there is 3 z's in the driveway and im very happy to say one of them is mine!!

When I read and saw bestmotoring vids about the 370Z being smaller and wider, faster than the 350z that caught my interest. Was looking for fast small V6 fun. she's perfect.

Owned an 09 A4, during this short ownership I ended up unplanned and unexpectedly at a nissan dealership about 6 times all different dealerships too, just staring at the car, the car was telling me take me home... i started to save to loose a lot of money on the A4 and may of last year i drove home with her.

Grew up driving Alfa Romeo's and hating Datsun (which was cleaning up with 510's in TransAm at the time). Evolved through a variety of sports cars, including a Lancia, Volvo 1800S, Porsche, MG, a couple Mercedes SL's. A couple of years ago our driveway had a blue Audi TT, a saphire Mercedes SLK and a red Mazda RX8. The German cars were killing us with expensive service. All of the Nissan's we've owned have been reliable, including a '91 Sentra SE-R, and an '85 Nissan Maxima. So we decided our next sports car would be Japanese. When the 370Z came along we said, "That's it!" and here we are. Still have 2 Audis (orange TT and imola yellow S4 Avant), but the Z is our fun summer toy.

In 2005 I was in a parking lot on my university campus and there was a silver 350Z there and I had never seen one. I did everything I could for years until I got a Z, and the 370 happened to be released before I could get a Z, and I like it even more!
So yeah, i walked by one in a parking lot and had to have one someday.

In ~98/99 dad bought a used Z32-TT. I didn't know much about Nissan and Z's (really wanted a souped up '98/'99 Accord coupe), and my car was an '87 200SX SE-V6 (retired in '05).
Anyhow, when it was time to plan for the next car photos of the Concept Z emerged in '99. It did not stir much interest at all.: Dad and I later found a black 2004 Z32-TT in immaculate condition. Neither of us knew how to drive a stick, so we had to let it pass. Looking back, I wish I got this car, but I was around 17-18 and was nowhere mature enough to handle something with this much power. The engine was silky smooth, had few door dings, interior was clean, etc. A couple years into college and still looking around for cars a new image appeared. This is what started my obsession. So for the next couple of years I joined jmanz.com (later became my350z.com) in search for new concept photos and leaks: Not knowing what a VQ35 felt like, in March '02 my dad and I test drove a VQ35 Maxima. We liked it so much we ended up preordering the 350Z, which arrived in October '02. I had it for 6 years before selling it and placing an order for the 370Z, which arrived in April '09.

KInd of a family thing for me. Back in the late 80's both my sister & cousin had 280Zs, then a few years later my cousin got a 300ZX. I have always loved that body style, & was bummed when he had to get rid of it because he was getting too may tickets (the very early 20's male need for speed & all of that).
Fast forward to 2008, & I'm nearing a position to where I can seriously make an effort to get a 350, & while overseas, I hears something about a new Z. Waited months & months for the car mags to do a first drive & all that. I was hooked from the first image I ever saw. I subscribe to the theory of never buyng a new car the first model year, so I've been biding my time since 09, but it will happen for me Thanksgiving of this year. Damn thing is that I have the kind of job where I can save up to buy a Z cash in about 8 months, but I'll only be home in the states 45 days out of the year to drive it. |
