yes, he got it brand new Chevy Corvette C6 at the dealership for $38K (in Nor Cal), it is possible. However, his car is pretty much base. They have tons of other upgrades that makes the price go skyrocket.

edit: If you go to AutoTrader.com and search on new vettes under $40,000 you will get 12 hits.

Note - if you want the Z51 performance pack, it will top 40K. I have to be impressed with Chevy for keeping the 'vette so light. I just don't really want one somehow.
I'm hoping that another 10K in the Z will get it into 'vette beating territory. It would be much more fun to beat 'vettes with a Z than the other way 'round. Of course, the best investment in speed is probably more time on the track. I've watched great drivers in Minis take down so-so drivers in 'vettes. |

A base model w/ sport package and $5k in upgrades will top out at about $38-$39k. That $5k should cover long tube intake, exhaust, pulleys, Hotchkis sways, Eibach springs and a set of R-comps.
As soon as the tuners get the ECU figured out, a new tune and you should be able to exceed the Nismo performance for less money but from what I've seen, it looks like the factory ECU may be adaptable enough that you don't even need the tune... |

Juan, I had the situation of leasing Nismo or 370z with intention of buying @ lease end. Funny I had just sold my 2002 corvette and used proceeds to lease/purchase my 370z which all in all the 370z for me is a way better, tighter, fun, head turning & just sweet car, I absolutely hated that plastic grind in the Chevrolet dash & just such a big forward line fast car, granted it was a c5 with smaller LS. My thought is to get the 370z sport which pretty close to the Nismo make sure you like this type of sports car you like/love. if you know your gonna buy at lease end you can start now just be prepared to return back to original if you end up turning back in. I plan on putting Nismo front bumper, sides and rear bumper while keeping originals although I know I'm purchasing mine did 1 payment lease and have corvette proceeds set aside. You'll love the 370z, it is so so much fun to drive and there isn't a ton of them running around. Check out the 1 payment option, I felt like I had a lot more buying power. Also be sure to study up on your leasing numbers through Nissan Financial, remember the 370z is not a car that traditionally leases well.
