So now when I follow my rule of 15 over the speed limit , I can do 100 instead of 85 ?

I'd love to see 85 as the legal limit. I'm doing 80 as I come off the on-ramp anyway.

It will be easy for the traffic engineers to find roads with plenty of straightaways. Much more difficult for them to find roads with not much traffic.

Not exactly what the bill says...
This would only apply to newly built roads if the engineering proves the road can support the higher speed limit.

We're lucky if we can hit 60 around here with all the traffic! I would guess this might apply to future toll road expansions here in central texas. Of course, lest we forget, our state and our transportation dept are pretty much broke.

houkouonchi would have more things to worry about like tire alligators and parts coming off cars in front of him than just washer fluid.

Between central Texas (Austin/San Antonio) and west Texas (El Paso) is about 3 "normal" states worth of nothin' much! Not commonly known is we already have some 80 MPH roads out that way, so it's not as big a step as the media would have you believe.

They manage to get by in Germany just fine with no speed limit on the Autobahn.
