I've driven mine in New England all winter with snow tires (Blizzaks front and rear), but I found that it tracked best with several hundred pounds in the back (I won't call it a trunk.) When I started offloading the weight, the back end started going out on wet roads. I'm having the oem summer tires put back on asap, but I wonder if adding weight to the rear end to approach 50/50 weight distribution might not help the handling. I know it will slow the car down, burt it already goes scary fast for the kind of driving I am doing. BTW, because the clearance is so low, I won't drive on more than 3-4 inches of snow, but I didn't have a single problem all winter

Rather than adding ballast to the back, you might look into moving some weight around. Things like relocating the battery can be pretty helpful.

A different suspension setup can also get a few more pounds sitting towards the rear.

I just avoid snow, and that's only because my front chin spoiler plows every block. But rain.... really? It's not that bad guys.

the only weather that would concern me would be hail or a tornado/hurricane

What do you get out of driving in the rain if you don't have to? To me it's not nearly as fun because I have to be extra cautious, I can't drive it as hard as I'd want to, etc. This is all assuming it's not a DD of course.

Not being confrontational, I just always see someone in forums that is surprised some people don't like driving in the rain and I don't really get it.

Not to speak for Toxik, but Im sure everybody prefers driving in dry conditions rather than rain. Rain just isnt enough to deter me from driving the Z specifically somewhere.

It's not about prefering dry conditions so much as being surprised that others would prefer not to drive in the rain.
Driving to a store or running errands, non sporty driving, I can see that. But if I'm in my Z (it's my other car), I'm on twisty backroads usually, so I'd just rather wait til dry conditions. I had that philosophy for when I rode motorcycles too.

Sorry.... but for me, I don't drive it in non-sunny weather for detailing reasons and just because. I'm OCD, and I've kept ALL my toy cars in the past that way. Never ever ever ever seen a drop of rain, snow, mist, etc whatever it is. It's just a personal preference thing. My dd's take care of all other weather.

My toy cars look just like they were off the showroom floor (or delivery truck) at the end of my use for them.... 7 to 12 years later.

Yeah makes a lot of sense. If I had a second car for a DD then Id prefer to keep the Z dry and clean.

My Z is actually my third car. With the lowering and aero pieces I put on snow is not possible and due to detailing rain is not a good choice unless it is returning from a show or unexpected. I feel that verts should be top down whenever outside the garage. If it is just cold out N/P the heater and heated seats work just fine but here in NY the roads have salt and sand on them in the winter and that crap sux, so most winter driving is out. But just to show I do drive it when possible my avatar pic was taken this winter when it was nice out.
