Who REALLY owns their Z???

I had an interesting conversation recently with one of our fellow members regarding how much we each were paying per month for our Z. That led me to wonder how many of us were financing or have paid for it outright. For fun, let's take a little survey and see who REALLY owns their Z. So reply if you want! It might be an interesting result. :stirthepot:

Extrapolate for age. I'm 56 and paid for mine in cash.

Must be nice Daddy Warbucks LOL... I will own mine in a few years.

kenyada 04-06-2011 11:01 AM

Paid in full here.

Red__Zed 04-06-2011 11:11 AM

It seems a pretty large number of owners paid cash for their Z's, based on similar threads in the past.

Mine was purchased outright.

DrEvil 04-06-2011 11:13 AM

I paid more than half in cash and took a loan out for the rest. Don't have any debts, both kids out of college, so I figgered that I 'll pay it off before the year ends. Only owe <6k. After 4 yaers of college, 4 years evil medical school, 3 years of evil residency and 25 years in practice, I got my Z.:stirthepot:

3SeventyZ 04-06-2011 11:33 AM

destinyZ 04-06-2011 11:56 AM

= $26,000 financed :/

shadoquad 04-06-2011 12:03 PM

I financed about 22k. If my new job turns out nice, I'll probably pay it off in the next year or so.

kenchan 04-06-2011 12:33 PM

9Zs_Ed 04-06-2011 02:55 PM

No financing here, but considered paying with a Home Equity check.

The Z's previously owned and I had a trade-in however. $18,800 plus change including tax, title and license.

Econ 04-06-2011 03:02 PM

Rawr

Mike 04-06-2011 03:08 PM

paid off

ImportConvert 04-06-2011 03:13 PM

I financed 90% of my car because I want to have something absurd on my credit record so that when I buy a house I won't get the shaft. Previously, I had a $750 limit credit-card, 2 $1000 loans, and a $2500 LOC.

If it saves me just 1/4 a percent on the house, it will have paid for itself and then some.

Smart move. :tiphat:

Paid in cash. Finance guy was being a jerk on the APR so I just said cash then. His eyes bugged a little then made the off handed remark of "It must be nice".

OldGuy 04-06-2011 03:58 PM

Paid cash for mine. Wouldn't have bought it otherwise.
Interesting question is how many of those who financed are upside down.

I'm sure a lot. These cars didn't hold their value nearly as well as you'd expect

Urbanracer 04-06-2011 04:14 PM

Owned since day one, can't really justify having a payment on a toy.

HATED1 04-06-2011 04:14 PM

Paid in cash money.

jaedub 04-06-2011 04:25 PM

damn look at all these ballers.

True That. I put down 10k. But thats only cause I sold a car.

cptspeed 04-06-2011 04:46 PM

Paid in full. First time in years without some sort of car payment. Feels good.

That might be true, but I paid for half of it myself by selling my last car which I owned and running a successful detailing business back in CT. I knew I would get flamed. And it is nice, but I appreciate my property and take care of my car better than most as I have a lot of respect for working for what you have.

wilsonp 04-06-2011 06:39 PM

Cash+Trade, but mine was a year old :)

OTOH, I tend to keep cars a long time so a loan doesn't bother me either...

Shamu 04-06-2011 07:00 PM

Put $10 K down and financed the rest as I like flexibility with my money. I have some much higher returns with my liquid assets than my very low interest rate.. No need to tie them up in the car.

Da.Menace 04-06-2011 07:03 PM
