Default why the 370z doesnt sell:::

I think Nissan needs to advertise the Z more. I can't believe that in its 3rd model year people are either asking me what kind of car is it or they think its a 350z. When I say its a 370, I get either "oh, I didn't know they made another version" or they ask what's a 370? People that know what it is will say things like "luv your car" or "be careful with my car". I'm surprised how clueless people are to the 370z.

whats selling now are old CRX's Geo metros , civics all for big dollars. It's crazy what 4 dollar gas can do.. I saw someone sell a 91 CRX on ebay the other day for over 6k. bone stock with like 200k miles.. but advertised 50+mpg.

I agree that it's impressive that no one knows what a 370 is. The 350 was a huge hit and instantly recognizable. I'd guess that people could name a Ferrari FF correctly before a 370Z.

I think it has to do with the dealers not really moving on price that well either or no incentives being offered, 2010 models are sitting at dealers here collecting dust and the dealer is trying to sell them as if they are 2011's, other contributing factors are that 2 seater's for some are not ideal and the economy plays a part as well I would think...

I have a short commute, but even if I lived further, if a few hundred a year makes a difference, I don't think a 370Z is what you should be buying just due to maintenance.

i have to agree with both sides of everyones statements, it is true that the Z isnt advertised very well on TV. I have yet to see a nissan commercial specifically advertising the Z, but thats also because just like every other car manufacturer out there everyone is going for the whole fuel efficiency angle. Kind of dissapoints me though cause taking everything into consideration the Z is actually a pretty fuel efficient sports car.

I went 100 miles this weekend and used a quarter tank. Not too shabby.

I read and hear comments like this all the time, but I can't figure out the math that makes purchasing, insuring and maintaining another vehicle to save a few bucks on gas a productive or sensible decision.
Seems to me like it would be a wash at best.

Yeah. It would take a long time or a lot of driving to be saving money by buying an additional car. The only way I see this working is if you need another car to use as a family car or something and need more seats/space than what you have in the Z.

I always keep 2 vehicles. Before I had a G37 and altima 3.5. I'm not going to live life in a 2 seater alone. I got rid of both my G and altima so now I'm getting a new second vehicle. My last pair of cars, both guzzled gas. This time I want my second car to be more furl efficient.

How is that a wash???? You should know all the facts b4 making half azz comments.

Nissan didn't need to advertise the 350 to sell them, they sold themselves. It's just a bad time for a car like the Z. Competition is also really stiff right now.

Meh. The Z is the best selling sports car line in history. Period. That said, times they are a changin! In case nobody's noticed (or just doesn't want to), the economy is on borrowed time in this country and is about to fall out the bottom all together. When you've got cars getting 50 miles to the gallon and the country has already been mostly de-industrialized yet inflation continues to soar, I guess it's just kinda hard to sell candy to the candyman no matter how many commercials you put on the boob tube.

Seriously valid points. We need to use domestic oil and offshore drilling should've been a domestic contract. Not some stupid brit company. But that's another story. I would love to know when the right thing will finally be done??? Its all messed up. We haven't done enough to make a better future and we done too much wrong to have the stability of the past. We will implode soon. Sux for all of us.
