Thanks for the observation on "environmental" cars. I used to work for the People's Republic of Palo Alto in California, home to some of the most radical environmentalists in the country. They are a smug, angry and sanctimonious bunch to say the least. I was driving a 66 Sport Fury 440 and they yelled profane comments at me saying I was destroying the earth, threw rocks and even a bottle at me (I gave chase...while still in the car), and tried to force all city employees to leave their cars home on "Car Out" days. What is funny is, some of these people drive an electric car to "protect the environment" and when I asked them the source of the electricity, they said an outlet! They couldn't comprehend that most electricity is generated by burning coal. The more electricity used, the more coal that is burned...I believe I offended them because I punctured their smugness...rock on

I'm surprised how clueless people are to the 370z.
I'm that I almost never see another 370Z.

With regard to televison, GM doesn't advertise the Corvette much at all. Ford really never advertises the Mustang... the one exception being the commercial for the V6 (touting it's fuel economy because that's what sells these days).

The 370 is one of those cars you either want or you don't want. You usually know before you even drive it that you're going to buy it. For a product like that you're better off buying a few print ads in some magazines that your target demographic would read. The first 370Z advert I saw was a print spread in a January '09 issue of GQ.
So true, Steve!

The only time I see 370Z's in advertisements is like the commercial where the guy stretches his Z into a Maxima after he learns a baby is on the way. And other times, the Z has been featured in generic Nissan ads, not unlike GM with the Corvette. They are marquee cars, meant to show off engineering, not make gobs of money. Only Porsche can do that since the badge alone costs $30 Grand.

Surely the economy plays a big roll when selling a car specially if its a sports car which requires someone who appreciate such a beauty. I had to wait 6 months to sell my ex e46 M3...!

No doubt. Modded cars take a nice hit as well. I sold my S for well under 20k, and it took months at that price.

at your modification level on your S2k your buyer pool is probably pretty small.

probably the reason Lou still has his 370TT

Because Z4 is only a few grand more? And chicks digs BMW more than Nissan

As Jeremy Clarkson says: "If you drive the Nissan, you won't be invited to a wife swapping party."

Z: 31,200 - 47,730

Z4: 47,000 - 62,000

Just comparing base MSRP, I think 15k is more than a few grand.

Actually, there's quite a bit of air time for the new Mustang V6.
Thinking about these economic times, the commercial focuses on the car's ability to make 300+HP while getting good gas mileage.

I guess we all have have to do our share to educate the public.
