How's the AC in the Z?

Considering a black/black Touring. Live in Texas. Is the AC up to it?

I do not have black\black but have pg\black and the ac seems real strong. Will really know in a month or two when it is 100+. 90's presented no issues and car cooled down very quickly.

Been in the 90s here, no issues. I don't even think I've come close to turning it all the way up.

AC is so strong, even in the lowest setting. Is it because we have a such strong engine, and big displacement?

This is the 21st century. You're gonna drive a car that only seats 2. Even if the AC was only "decent" it would still provide enough ice power to freeze your butt.

Most here probably don't have their ACs at full power, anyway. I could never put the AC full power in my car, if at all... and I live in Miami.

Got a black on black touring here in Oklahoma. Never had the A/C up more than 2 bars.

coming from an rsx
the AC is greaaat

does bigger engine mean better AC?

Anatoray 04-11-2009 03:24 PM

AC full blast in a 2-seater is kind of overboard. That's really to reach the back seats in 4 seaters. With the vents so close to the front seats, full blast will make whatever body parts it hits ice cold lol

Not if you're in the middle-east where temps go as high as 120-130F then this might actually be a challenge for the AC, but not in 100-110F temps. I doubt I'll ever go above 1-2 on the AC here in MN.

Marcus - thanks for the bulletin that the Z has 2 seats.

I try to do my best in pointing out the obvious.

Edit: I just noticed you're the original poster. I wasn't trying to put you down or anything.

For me the killer in TX is the seat. I sweat a bit (ok a lot) and I basically can suffer frostbite in front with the AC on and dehydrate from back sweat. How are the seats in the Z base/touring? I notice breather holes, but should I hope/pray for the roadster seats to come to the coupe?

Z a/c

Agreed I am also in TX but as you know the temps have been in the 60's-70's lately. The airflow is very good on high and the compressor seems to put out some very cool temperatures quickly. Even my 08 Altima (2.5L) had very efficient A/C when temps were over 100. I think Nissan has the AC capacity figured out on their cars..IMO
