Not to mention, that the fold-up one should not do that if it fits correctly and was placed on the windshield correctly. |

Got the heatshield in... fits pretty well! Feels a little cheap.. for $40 I think I need to go into the sunshade business. There are some gaps on the side as it was rolled up pretty tight for shipping and one edge was curled up... I have it on the floor now with some books on it to flatten it out.. I think I will just tri-fold it when not in use in the car.

I have the same one ^
Between parking in the shade, having a white car, and this sunshade the Texas heat never felt so cool :santa: |

Or maybe it's just that I can't figure out how to place it without removing my radar detector from the mount. |

So I now have all three sun shades in this thread. First I got the heat shield type, but that is folding instead of roll up.
Then I found this thread and saw the heat shield, positive reviews here, and a comment that the rearview mirror would hold it up without the visors. THEN I finally found the Covercraft one that I've used in my mustangs the last 9 years with impeccable fit and quality - this is the very thick folding one shown earlier in this thread. Unfortunately the fit is not that great in a Z and I could find no way to get it up without knocking the rear view mirror around. It takes me longer to get this in place than to roll up the heat shield. So now I'm back to the heat shield, but I can't get it to completely cover the window and stay up, even using the visors. Almost seems as if the material isn't sturdy enough. They all work to varying degrees and if someone could mutate all three into one super shade, they would have a winner! I guess the good news is that I have a lifetime supply of 370Z sun shades! :driving: |
I have this one as well: Motorsport! UV Sunshield, 09-14 370Z - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts
I have zero complaints with it. Perfect fit and can be easily placed behind the passenger seat. |
I just have the whole front window tinted 70% with ceramic tint + the brow and call it a day.

Personally I would have gone for the folding type but I remember coming across a pic AK the forum admin chap posted a while ago and thought I would give that a miss. I think I will get the rolled up one. The rolled up one I got from ebay a while ago was approx 30 dollars and pretty stiff and coverage was excellent. |

Have you found a way around it? I'd rather not have to reset everything once I get back into the vehicle. |
dont you want to remove your expensive detector out of plain sight anyway? another reason why i never got a blend mount on my G since i use the car to go to work some times.

From the outside you can't really tell it's there, TBH. It being so dark inside w/a black interior. I had to get a Blendmount as the suction cups always failed and there wasn't a way to mount it to the headliner or vanity shades like on my previous car (shades are too thick and don't provide rear visibility for the rear detector. So it was Blendmount, suffer, or spend $2,000+ to get it hard wired and placed into the mirror w/laser shifters. :eekdance: I don't park much out in the open anyways - car is in a secure covered garage at work and in my garage when at home. |
