Ridiculous start/stop button question...
Something just occurred to me as I sat in the Z today to start her up. When I start the car I push in and hold the button until the engine starts. However when I turn the car off, I just push the button without keeping it depressed. Anyone else do this? I have no idea why I do this. Maybe it's a throwback conditioned action to turning an actual key and making sure the engine fires up?
On a side note, I STILL always catch myself letting the clutch out slowly completely defeating the purpose of my SRM. Lol... I guess old habits die hard. (even though I was heal/toeing in my Evo before this car) Anyway... |

i just tap the button when i start the car. Then again almost every car i've ever driven (family members cars, cars i've owned etc) has been push button start nissan so... i'm pretty used to hit haha.

I held the button down for the first few engine cranks, but now I spend that cranking time with other things...like reaching for my shades and getting my tunes on! Hmmm, you know...I haven't tried dumping the clutch on a downshift yet. Force of habit I suppose from too many years of driving manual trannies. |

Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I remember driving my Grandparents Buick Regal with the pimpin 8-track (shudder)! |

Don't mean to jack your thread OP, but SoCal, do you remember having to push the button to skip tracks, and the (*clunk*) we had to listen to as it switched sides?

ive been driving cars that use keys to start since i was 17 including my last car but ever since i got used to the z, ive been embarassing myself reaching for a nonexistent push start button on my friends' and parents' cars, with the exception of my old car before i sold it cause it was a matter of muscle memory and familiarity if that makes sense
