oil temp question, (not a complaining thread)

your engine is gonna blow up at that temp. Overreact now and install a aftermarket cooler just like many members in this forum......who doesnt even track their cars.

Here in Southwest Florida mine stays around 210 or so and after some spirited driving I hit 220.

To the OP: anything between 180-220 degrees is the optimal operating oil temperature. I have personally hit 240 degrees just sitting in traffic before I installed a oil cooler which is not ideal, even short spurts of spirited driving resulted in 270+ degree temps at which point oil becomes much thinner and not as capable to protect the engine.

Some have more of a problem than others, even in similar driving conditions however I recommend it for peace of mind alone as it can only help and you can be confident your oil temps will be controlled in any situation.

I love hearing from the many members of this forum who do not know the correct use of "don't" and "doesn't". Comments from the products of a failed education system are an unending source of both amusement and despair for me, please keep them coming and have a great day.

Eh pretty normal temp don't sweat it. Mine's is around 200 or a little below doing highway speeds and rises to around 220 give or take in stop and go traffic.

Well in Georgia these cars go into limp mode in the summer with moderate driving,so I don't understand your comment of "over reacting"

dont try to understand Frank. its easier that way. But you, me, and of course the people who actually drive their car properly and have fun in it know that a oil cooler is definitely a good thing, if not a necessity.

I can feel a big difference in the car from 180ish to 220+ I dont track my car (mainly cause there are no tracks on Long Island) but I plan on getting an Oil Cooler next month. Am I over reacting???? I think you need to take it down a few Notches.

Mine has reached 200-215 on very warm days, and driving highway speeds. Typically my car reaches around 190 degrees after few hours of driving (normal).

I look at it this way. Am I racing the car - no. Am I abusing the engine - no. Am I covered under warranty - Yes. I will let Nissan deal with the headache, and providing a solution if the engine craps out due to overheating. Til then, enjoy your car.
