Japan car port delays
I was just informed that my Z that I've been waiting on since September was on the car port in Japan waiting to get loaded up when the disaster hit. Supposedly is was mostly the Infinity M's, Nissan Rogues, and the Z's waiting to be loaded and none could be salvaged... JUST MY LUCK!!!! the car was supposed to be in my hands by the end of this month. looks like its going to be a little longer to wait... sadly. Anyone else have the same misfortune?
|
damn! i feel your pain! and with everything happening over there right now and evacuation going on, production COULD be pushed back more than expected =/ im also waiting on a shipment of 2011 Z's to get into the dealership!
|
yeah there is rumor that GT-Rs were destroyed aswell one source told me 100 another told me 200.... if true given the time frame one of them was most likely mine
who told you your Z was destroyed... you know there is a picture of the incident and you can clearly see the Z's in it the Togichi plant is supposed to resume limited operations today (3/20)so keep your fingers crossed.. i have been monitoring the nissan japan press releases and so far there hasnt been one to contradict the 3/20 date i did read this today though http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/19/bu...auto.html?_r=1 |
tochigi may be back up and running, but only in limited capacity. suppliers cannot produce the parts required in adequate amounts to meet nissan's full production speed. going to be a rough year.
|
by the way its the Iwaka plant that is the most damaged..... and its the plant that makes the Z engines...
The Iwaki engine plant is a massive facility that was expanded in late 2006 in order to increase its output capacity. Nissan produces its VQ series V6 engines at the plant, and when operational, has output capacity of 560,000 units per year. Nissan utilizes variants of the VQ series engines in over 10 models, and it is unclear how long the automaker will be able to continue vehicle production before running low on available V6 engines. VR's are made in Yokohama |

ah ok yeah i track mine about once a week.... see mine still said ONS as of last week (order not serialized) so no VIN but.. that doesnt 100% mean it wasnt built.... i noticed that sometimes VINs didnt show up until it was already in transit (SIT) ... so.....its possible it wasnt built yet..... but it was scheduled for the first week of march.. so the timing is right for it to have been at the yard as for yours yeah try to find your color upper left or in the middle where the red Z is http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/5186/bp251.jpg |

i wonder how they make up for destroyed cars on the line? i know infiniti said they had a good stock of cars in the US and would make up for these through out the year
but what about like in your instance and possibly mine..where is a ordered customer sold car? you think those would get priority? i mean im sitting with no car and a 61K deposit floating in limbo............ |

this is unbelievable, just look at all the money there in that small portion of the entire destruction.. such a terrible tragedy on so many levels |
Good question, ill keep ya posted when i hear anything else about it. hoping maybe for a little compensation for the wait? long shot, i know... but a guy can hope!

Yeah, sorry such a terrible thing had to happen to you. Be strong. |
Ok, Did anyone hear me say who gives a F*** about all the deaths that occurred, all i care about is my damn car? no. So quit being suck a d*** and trying to make me seem like an a$$hole.
Ok, Thanks |
Yeah... you're kinda doing that all on your own.
Hey man, seriously -- hope it all works out okay for you. Like I said -- could be worse, right? Anyway, you can reflect upon all that once you get your new Z. |
funny how no one else took it like that except for you... coincidence? think not.

Jordo, man give it a rest fella. You've made your point about a hundred times. You're beginning to wear out your welcome if not already.

This guy posted on here hoping others would empathize with his misfortune -- this saddening delay. Just his luck! Really? It's the world wide web. Imagine you lost friends and loved ones in this disaster (which, BTW, is still ongoing -- it's not like this happened 20 years ago) and saw somebody talking like this? It's staggeringly insensitive. Hey -- ya know what it's cool. I'm really sorry. I'll refrain from further commentary. After all, I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's delicate feelings, especially when they've suffered such "misfortune" as a result of this somewhat inconvenient catastrophe. Maybe the OP should write a letter to Nissan for that "compensation" he feels he's owed for this intolerable delay. |
Eh i have to agree fully with Jordo. That said it does suck your car is probably toast. I wouldent pin to much on that photo of the yard tho. Wait a while and see what comes from Nissan.

And you're sitting comfortably in your chair posting up your misfortune. Wat you're experincing is a little bad luck, not a misfortune. :ugh2: |

Why do you think that might that be? Just sayin... Anyway, I'm done. |

It's always funny to me how people love to play the "holier-than-thou" card in these situations. Yes, it is sad that Japan has been struck with such a tragedy, but the OP obviously doesn't mean disrespect to anyone in his post. I bet if either of your cars were delayed, you guys would be disappointed as well. I know I would be. It's not a reflection of a lack of care for those affected by the tragedy at all. |

It is totally and completely a public statement expressing complete disregard for the (ongoing) tragedy of others, while calling attention to how that tragedy has mildly inconvenienced his life. Seriously -- what is the point of this thread? It appears to be public plea for sympathy over how the OP's life is slightly less awesome due to a global catastrophe. Awwwwww. Poor guy! How does he endure such hardship? I'm pretty astounded that not everybody understands why making public statements of this sort is utterly apalling and embarassing :ugh2: |

I just got some kind of confirmation that the Z I ordered is in California already and it was built in February. Either it shipped out early or the dealer is unscrupulous, but after reading about Nissan's efficiency, I'm not worried about any delay. I've been receiving a few Nissan emails due to my order and I got their email about donating to the efforts in Japan. I am doing my part to help them out, so don't anyone complain about me being selfish. |

I don't think anyone at Stillen will be horrified by my comments; if you just lost loved ones in the disaster, you would probably be agahst that someone made the comments the OP made. God forbid people should think about how the things they say or do affect others  I'm sure he's a very nice guy and meant no harm (whereas I am clearly a prick and feel obligated to give him some sh!t :icon17: ), but it shows a monumental lack of consideration for others who have had their lives pretty much ruined or permanently changed for the worse from this disaster. Basically, he (and everyone else whining about how the worst disaster in Japan's history inconvenienced them) are just being incredibly thoughtless and self-absorbed. So self absorbed, in fact, he had no problem seeking support from a crowd of strangers on a public forum, and expected people to be concerned with his problems and sympathetic. Well, sometimes you get criticism instead of hugs. Oh well. |
