that sucks man, hopefully you hear from them soon! It took us a while to get in touch with our family due to power /communication outages. In fact we havnt spoken to our cousin directly, but via our other cousin who got in touch with her.

I've been in touch with some fellas up at Misawa and they've said that Mutsu had a "dwarf tsunami" but nothing on par with the costal areas on the Pacific side.

Thanks Dai, we are anxious for sure. In the meantime I educate myself reading Pew Research Center Attitude polls.

I hope your family's OK Jon. I do wish the best for all the people of Japan and everyone whose been affected by this tragedy.

I kind of understand both sides of the argument, but I don't think all this arguing over the internet is going to accomplish anything. Yes, a car is not important compared to the lives and well being of thousands of people. However, you can't use this tragedy to say that no one is ever allowed to be even the slightest bit upset or unhappy over anything else. By that logic, no one in the world should ever be allowed to be upset because someone somewhere in the world has it worse.

zcarman was trying to start a fight or argument as he has previously has done! The box of tissues was directed at the OP, "not you", "not zcarman"!

Yep, family. Uncles and Aunts and cousins. All up north. Haven't been able to get through to them yet but believe they survived.

Much appreciated. I know you mean well. Your methods are what I disagree with and I won't stand idly by. That said, perhaps you and I can agree to disagree on this matter and call it a day?

Absolutely -- actually, if anyone has the right to tell me to give it a rest, it's you and any others in the same boat.

Hope you hear from them soon.
