Thank god my 370Z was a demo car.

I doubt the dealership was soft on the car.

the son of the owner is the guy that takes people on test rides.

he rode the test GT-R with my parents.

it had 500ish miles.

he started driving 120 and started sliding in corners. showed launch controll.

when he drove with me in the 350Z.

same. flooring it. then he simply went "oh yes it drifts good" and started drifting on turny roads

I have one of those Smyrna-made Altima coupes. Two years old to the day w 16,000 miles and not even a hint of a single problem. Since it was only an Altima and my daily driver, I paid no attention to break-in. Just drove it reasonably as I normally use the car and it has been wonderful. Maybe a pass around that track at its birth was just the trick!

I have had several mustang gt's and a z28. I have always broken in these cars without acceleration but by gradually taking the engine to red line in 1st 2nd 3rd . On the highway at different speeds at 10 minute intervals for the first 1000mi. After that I drove it like I stole it. I never had any issues or burned any oil. The cars ran strong until the day I sold them. I also had a jeep cherokee sport that i broke in this way. I sold it with 210k and i could still churp1,2 and third.

I will have My z on May 5th, and I plan to break it in the same way as my other cars. This method worked for me.
