Glad you got it to work. I used the learning feature on my garage door as follows. The first thing you need to is of course find the learn button and press it. The difference in what you have explained and how it works is that you then have the hold the button on the Homelink in the car UNTIL the garage door unit's light flashes three times. That is the comfirmation you code was accepted. Really that it.

From there on you shouldn't have any problems if you need to program another garage door opener in the future.

Checked the manual and tried all the buttons and nothing. No blinking lights nothing. Tried to program my garage door, again no blinking lights even when holding both outside buttons to clear the codes.

I start looking more closely, and it seems the cable has been removed?? There is a plug on the back of the mirror, but no cable plugged in. I found a cover that will fit up on the windshield like a cable cover in the glove box.

I'm thinking the cable is missing? It was a used car so I'm guessing it got swiped, but would appreciate some confirmation before I nag the dealer to replace it.

Thanks in advance!
Looks like the mirror was bought aftermarket and never hooked up. I'm thinking the cable that came with the mirror is missing. Anyone else installed this mirror as aftermarket item and have more on the install.
I'll look for a link.

Maybe this thread will help:

Homelink mirror on the cheap

Possible, but I think unlikely it's aftermarket. The car has never been titled and came direct from Nissan Corporate to the dealer. They're local to me.

I figured the mirror was supposed to have a connection, I just wanted to confirm it wasn't somehow in the stalk or something before I called the dealer I bought it from to have them get one.

I gave them a call and they said to come by and they'd make it right. I'll update once resolved in case someone else has the issue.

Would appreciate if you find any factory Homelink mirror install info though, so I can see what's involved. Not sure if there's another plug up in the headliner or what.

I had just as much trouble programming mine. I tried 4 times before it finally worked. After 2 attempts, it locked up and wouldn't reset or enter learning mode so I had to pull the fuse and re-insert it to reset it. Nice once you get it working though...

Thanks for that, however if it came with this Homelink mirror from the factory, there shouldn't be any tapped wires right? Should be pre-wired?

im not sure where the homelink mirror gets installed at the factory or when it arrives US port. but yah, i would assume a factory installed one would have wires pre-wired.

Ok update....issue is resolved on mine. The power connector for the mirror was tucked up in the head liner, so it was in fact pre-wired. All hooked up, and programmed to my garage doors. SWEET.

I picked up a PW Z today and tried to program my homelink but no go. I pressed the two buttons on both ends (1 and 3) but it did not reset. Any thoughts on what I should do next before taking it to the dealership?
