It's not really an issue on the street daily driven. On the track, yes, until nissan redesigns the engine or installs factory oil coolers. $400-500 will get you a proper cooler setup and fix the issue though.

search.

its not that big a deal to be honest..ive done a decent amount of spirited driving and ive only once seen it hit past 240 degrees. yea, thats pretty hot, but like others have said, if we didnt have an oil temp guage, this wouldnt be as big an issue as others make it out to be. for the street, an oil cooler isnt necessary, but id definitely get an oil cooler if i was tracking!

Yes it exists. Some people have no issues, I for instance can do a 2 minute run through the twisties and am approaching 260, and it takes forever to drop back below 220.

I can hit 240° just driving in highway traffic at 70MPH using the cruise control...

An Oil cooler is almost definitely a must if you don't drive like grandma...

My 2011 touring has no problem. I have drove it on the autobahn here in germany at well over 100 mph. I did a 3 hour drive and was giving it all it could off and on the whole time. NO heat problems. I think some of you worry way too much. Has your car over heated yet? Just saying.

^your car will overheat on a track.

All the Zs will have oil temp issues if pushed hard enough. The absence of an oil cooler is the problem. Street Zs are mostly OK except for people driving in mountains on hot days.

LOL

Rumor has it that Nissan is now scraping the plans for a nuclear powered Z. Cooling problems would just be too much to deal with.

If you drive your car hard, get an oil cooler. If you live in a warm climate and sit in traffic a lot, get an oil cooler. If you want your engine to last longer, get an oil cooler. Case closed.

Yep, still there. Nothing has changed as far as the engine or cooling between the model years.

Would be nice if that removed limp mode.
