The Japanese tuner Jun built an AWD 350Z by stealing the AWD system from an R-32 and installing a holinger 6-speed sequential gear box. I don't think he had rallying in mind as the car sits about 1 inch off the ground but with a different suspension setup it would be pretty awesome.
Nissan 350z R - AWD Import & Tuner Car - Super Street P.S. if you look in from the outside the front wheel area on our cars you will see that they actually left space for front axles. No one really knows what they were considering or if it was just a reflex action from designing the G37.
