Angry Thank you to all the idiots....

I just got off the phone with my insurance company to get a quote for a 300zx twin turbo. In the process, i found out that my 6 month premium on my Z has increased from $1,214.60 to $1,612.00 without a single ticket, accident, or claim. They have reassessed the cars risk factor in the past few months, and i would just like to thank all the idiots who crashed their Z's by doing stupid shit like driving in the snow with summer tires, turning off VDC and deciding to learn to drift on public roads, etc, etc.

Accidents happen, and often times its no ones fault, and the most important thing is that no one gets hurt. But if you crashed your 370z by being a moron, i would like to hereby thank you for raising my insurance premiums

Here's some balloons:

Why the **** is your 6 month policy that high to begin with? Even 1200/6 is ridiculous.

Location, probably. Z's are expensive to insure as well.

Geico tried to add on the same rate adjustment for me. I told them I'd go somewhere else, and they kept my current rate. Worth an ask.

Side note: Current 6 months prem is like 777, with a mustang it drops to 300.

I'll join you in offering a collective to all those who have jacked up our insurance rates.

My 370 started at 95 a month then progressively stepped up to 125 when all the morons kept crashing them.

+1 !!!

I'm 25 and have a '11 Z06 with free replacement of said Z06 with a new Z06 within 3 years (Say, in 2013, if someone T-bones it and totals it, I go to the showroom and pick a new one and Allstate cuts the check, cool deal! I suggest it.), accident forgiveness, comprehensive with $500 deductible, and my 6 month premium is only $1200.

thats nice coverage. i believe the age at which you are no longer an irresponsible, reckless moron is 25 though (in the eyes of insurance companies)

i think its a combination of geico being a ripoff, me being young, living in NY... and i dont know. i havea clean driving record. no accidents or tickets since i'm 17. but apparently that doesn't mean anything.

I find that hard to believe considering we have the highest rates in the country. I am with statefarm and I pay 1200 every 6 months for just the z with every discount imaginable except for being married. im 28 by the way in NOLA.

Yeah, I was with State Farm until they told me they wanted $242/mo and their policy wasn't near as good as Allstate's.

I could have only paid $142 a month if I didn't want accident forgiveness or free 3-year new car replacement.

Maybe you owe your local Allstate agent a phone call. State Farm is a good company, but so is Allstate, and they are a LOT cheaper on sports cars. I paid more for my old trans am with State Farm than I am this new Z06 with Allstate.

The rate for my daily driver (G20) was only a few bucks difference between Allstate and Statefarm, fwiw.

I called allstate yesterday, and for the exact same coverage that I would have with statefarm, they wanted $650 more every 6 months. I dont have any idea what allstate agent you found. I gues it is cause i live in New Orleans.

For arguements sake....ask most guys who work in body shops who they use for their personal car insurance. From my personal experience, majority will respond with State Farm. You may pay a little more, but they are ALOT better about replacing damaged parts with New OEM pieces (this is a huge deal for me with both my truck and my two Z's) and are much easier to work with.

Companies like Geico will try to nickle and dime you on repairs and will attempt to replace damaged parts with used or repaired pieces. I spent 4 months argueing with their home office trying to get my '06 Dodge fixed correctly.

Again, thats my personal experience.

Rates are based on where you garage it, crime stats, etc per that zip code. Maybe he lives in a shitty area.
