Go with red because it's got splash guards!

My first choice was PG and 2nd was white. But I did a last minute change to Monterey blue. I love the white color.

my 350 was red and it was hard to keep clean....

if i wouldn't have gotten white and would have seen a red in person w/sport package i would have gone red....just looks so sporty and exterior mods look hot on it.

Ok, I checked their on-line inventory and the interior is black........whew. I ordered mine with grey interior and was going to be a little upset if my preordered car had come in and was out on the lot.

Red isnt going to be much easier to take care than black is, at least the red is flat and not metallic on the 370Z.

The white will also be a PITA if you get a scratch in it because of the metallic flake in it.

hey32g,

Funny, I went through the red/black scenario when I ordered my 335i coupe. I was set for black until I saw a red/black with the gray poplar trim. I went with red. On the Z I had not seen a red one but had seen black/silver/yellow when I went to pick one up. When I saw the red I was glad I went with red. However, I have to admit the yellow was hard to pass up.

^ I'll sound like the grumpy old man, but I miss the "old" yellow that came on the 50s.

I had white on my G, while if you looked very hard for swirls, you could see them, nothing as bad as the many red vehicles I have owned (which were nothing as bad as the black vehicles I have owned )

If OP plans on dropping and throwing some bigger, chrome wheels on it I would go with the white.

I LOVE have pearl white looks with a nice large set of chrome wheels on it. I have both a 96 and 05 Mustang GT (both red), never had a problem with the swirls just always looks dirty.

Just curious... does anyone have any research that shows red cars are stopped more than any other color? I also don't understand the "attention" that many of you talk about. What kind of attention?

"Perhaps the most believed urban legend about what will get you pulled over is driving. Some legends suggest that insurance agents will charge you more for insuring a red car because they get pulled over more, some suggest that the color red affects your driving behavior and leads to more traffic violations. Others say that the color makes a car look like it's going faster than it really is. Still others suggests that red cars are more eye-catching, so police target them more frequently.

While there have been relatively few studies conducted on this topic, the evidence that is available shows that red cars are not pulled over more often than cars of other colors. What is interesting to note here is that silver and grey cars do seem to be pulled over statistically more frequently than other car colors, according to Snopes.com."

In an attempt to prove or disprove the belief, in 1990 a reporter for the St. Petersburg Times conducted his own smallish survey of which color of cars were getting the most speeding tickets in his area. He first staked out four intersections in the two counties he was studying and made a tally by color of vehicle of the 1,198 cars that went through them. He then leafed through the most recent 924 speeding citations issued in those two counties to arrive at a count of how many had been issued to each color of car. Last, he compared the two results to see if the resultant percentages closely approximated one another or were badly out of sync.

His findings challenged the belief about red cars being dunned with proportionally more of the speeding tickets. Red cars accounted for 14 percent of the local vehicle population and about 16 percent of the citations for speeding, which is not a significant difference. Surprisingly, his informal study did reveal certain statistically significant differences, but they had to do with other colors of vehicle.

White cars, which accounted for 25 percent of the local vehicle population, received only 19 percent of the tickets, which meant such jalopies were cited for their transgressions less often than they should have been. This raises a new hypothesis: Rather than red attracting the unwelcome attentions of the highway patrol, perhaps instead it is the case that police tend not to notice white vehicles that are breaking the law.

Grey cars were the ones that gained a greater share of the speeding tickets than they statistically should have: while they accounted for only 6 percent of cars on the road, they pulled down 10 percent of the tickets issued. On the flip side, silver cars got only 5 percent of the tickets, yet they represented 10 percent of the car population.
