It's my daily driver and honestly.. I am more than impressed by it's daily driveability and I even have the 6 mt.
The rear hatch can actually fit a lot of stuff if you can prioritize your belongings. For example I can fit my entire hard shell guitar case, a briefcase sized suitcase, a pillow, a sleeping bag, and still had room for another relatively large item. Also if you don't have a passenger you can fit even more things in the passenger seat. To be honest I was comparing an 09 370z (got mine new, had been sitting on the lot for a few months, the dealership had been unable to move it which is sad ) and a slightly used 04-07 STi or evo9. The only reason for the choices is because the back seat and four doors plus a trunk can be very useful and they can be made to go fast cheap (relatively). My 370z is a base and the bucket seats are pretty comfortable and I managed 20-21 mpg combination of city and highway driving. If you don't have a need for a four door car (I didn't but they're useful) then the Z is a great daily driver sports car. |

That said, I've spend time in DC almost every year and for quite a few years now it's been in a Z (either a 350 or a 370). My concern with a Z in your area of the country would be weather; specifically snow/ice...no RWD sports car is going going to be good in such conditions. However, I also lived through two winters in Chicago with a 1973 Formula 400 Firebird so it CAN be done (but it's not a lot of fun). If you really love/want the car I say go for it. Perhaps before the the next winter season kicks in you can buy an old beater for such conditions or come up with some other options if the weather is just too nasty/to unsafe for a Z.

I was wondering if the Metro was a good option for you...every time I've used it it's been a good experience which has not generally been the case with most mass transit systems I've used! Also...consider coming to ZCON this year in Nashville (it really isn't that far of a drive)...you can find info here: ZCON 2010 - Nashville, TN July 28th-August 1st Who is going to this???

having more than one car is a plan in the butt
especially if 1's a nice car and the other is a reasonably good looking car. you have to keep them both clean and lookin good and keep up maintenance on both it is kinda cool though to pick what car u want to drive based on the mood your in. |

Most of my life I've had only one vehicle (there is only one of me after all) and since my "one" vehicle has usually been something I care a lot about I spend a LOT of time trying it keep it looking as clean as possible...after a rain or whatever I was usually out there washing it the moment the rain had stopped. However, for quite a while now I've had at least two vehicles (at the moment I have a 370Z Touring Roadster and a Murano...the Murano is my DD). This allows me to keep my Z in the garage and keeps it relatively clean. With this set-up; I've found that I actually spend less time overall "cleaning" my vehicles. I still try to keep my Murano clean but (and I hate to confess this) I use a car wash that does a pretty good job on the exterior and has free vacuums. I would never put my Z or any vehicle I had an emotional investment in through a mechanical car wash.

When I bought the car I planned on using it as my weekend car only. To be honest though, the car is so fun to drive and yeah its fun to see all the necks breaking lol...so yeah I use it as a daily driver now. It deff has me spoiled I hate being in other cars now. Especially when im riding I always think it should be faster than it should. You guys know what im talking about...cant wait to get back behind the wheel of the Z lol

I can't imagine driving my Murano every day, watching the Z sit in the garage. (I own both vehicles as well)
