Well, ive dated her for over 5 years, and shes always been cool with whatever Ive wanted to do. Yah she has her hott head moments but always apologizes later without even asking! Also, she has one amazing job as a doc, I mean, she will technically be footing the bill on most of the big items and she doesnt mind that im just a UPS man! So I gotta love her for that. I did tell her however if I did drive in on a Z, she would know her ring was already bought! Then, she would be going nuts wondering when she was gonna get it.

The V6 Camaro doesn't handle anything like the SS Camaro, the spring rates are entirely different. The V6 is setup with fairly soft springs but a moderate damping rate, it makes a comfortable, practical and affordable highway cruiser but rolls pretty good when pressed hard around corners. Sure it doesn't have the brute power of the V8, but the 300hp from the V6 does move the thing along with ease and it does go pretty good when you wind up the RPM. The 6-AT has nice tall gearing and keeps the RPM's nice and low when you are just cruising. The downside of the Camaro is that you have a horrible sight-line out of the windshield, it feels like you are looking out of a narrow slit thanks to the long hood and low roof. But my wife has had hers for 1 year and 12K miles and still likes it. I even put snow tires on it and it does well in all conditions right up until you run out of ground clearance.

She sounds so awesome you should go buy a Camaro, Z, Mustang and Corolla (you know, to seem practical!).

And watch your language about UPS men...You guys work long hours to bring me car parts, cigars and golf clubs!

You would have to figure out what you want to live with. 4 seat muscle or 2 seat precision.

The 2012 camaro v6 is getting a new engine and a bump and coming this summer. I also heard the FE4 susp will be an option due to the fe3 sucking. If this is so and camaro sheds a few lbs in the refresh???? Maybe the v6 might be worth the look??? But 2010/2011 in v6 form. HELL TO THE NO!

What do you mean by engine speed? The chevy revs at lower rpms and does the quarter in over 14 seconds. About 1.3 seconds slower than a Z.

i'm no gear head so heres a couple of questions....
how do the drive trains compare.. meaning the z's 7AT to the camaro's AT. is it a 7 speed or what. and what about the z's 6mt with the sync.what does the camaro offer and the clutch in each. just wondering........

i do know the camaro is everywhere now, at our local dealership i swear they have 15 lined up next to each other.

On the camaro I know mostly about the auto. It has a tremec 6speed auto with cheesy plastic buttons behind the steering wheel they call paddle shifters. It redlines somewhere around 6200-6500rpm. When you shift the paddles you cannot choose your own gear as freely as a nissan 7at like in my infinit or your 370's. In other words, if you don't shift the camaro by around 4400-4600rpm. The car will shift for you. That's the down side. The upside it has a potent azz pedal and when you floor it that 400lbs of torque throws you back like a bucking bronco. Something you can't get from a G or Z. That's why I rent them occassionally. I need the torque fix... lol
As far as I heard. The manual in the chevy is supposed to be top notch. Also built by tremec, I hear it shifts smooth and the clutch is not too heavy but not light. No car has SRM on the manual except the Z. Not even another nissan or infiniti. Nissan autos have DRM and is found in very few other brand trannies. I believe bimmer has drm in the 6at. Not sure about the rest of the car brands.

Dont worry, until they kick me outa the door, Ill stay with UPS. Been there since I was 17 yrs old and im still there and still getting raises so I cant complain. I went to college but found that UPS still paid way more than most jobs in the field and I really enjoy talking to the customers and being on your own etc.

Thanks for your support from the both of you. You have no idea how much im ready to buy a car, I mean, I test drove the car last year but she warned me not to get one till the day she has the ring lol. Its ok I guess, it would just be another payment after all right? I think once she gets that ring I could have a GTR in my driveway and she wouldnt bat an eye!

At least the GTR, has 4 seats for future kids right??

I don't know what shift mode you had it in but when in manual mode the car does not automatically up shift, it will just bounce off the rev limiter.

I agree that the plastic buttons are cheesy and the transmission is a little slow to respond to the input.

The camaro and Z are almost identical in straight line speed. I think the camaro it a couple tenths faster then the Z. if you do a power to weight ratio they are withing a couple hundreths of each other. Somewhere around .1 hp/lb if i remember correctly. I almost bought an SS Camaro but the Z is just a nicer car. The camaro feels faster because of all the low end torque. so it pushes u in the seat more at lower rpms. But the weight kills the car. Its all personal preferance. I liked the Z more so i bought it lol

I traded in a 2010 SS for my Z. The reason I traded it was because of all the problems I had. I had multiple electrical issues that the dealer could not resolve, and I actually blew both of the liquid motor mounts on two separate occasions. The car is HUGE. It's very difficult to park because you can't see out of it to place yourself as well. As for the motor, the LS3 was awesome and I do miss that. The handling of the car was decent but nowhere near that of the Z. As for straight line, I don't feel a big difference. I had intake mufflers and a tune on my camaro and the best I could get out of it was a 12.9. My Z has intake and exhaust and it ran a 13.4 so after it gets a tune and test pipes it will be pretty damn close. All in all, I do miss the camaro but Im very happy with my Z. Oh and the gas mileage is worlds better in the Z.

Did you have wheel weights on your calipers, too?
