Ok I went from a e46 330ci and I just want to make sure that this incredibly harsh ride, loud engine noise, and sensitive clutch/transmission is normal.

I don't know if its because I have'nt learned fully how to drive the car but when I accelerate, its very noisy.

The car handles amazingly and has tons of power, but its just so loud and harsh.

I keep thinking its like a bad tranny or clutch.

The car is a 09' with 27k miles on it and has sports package.

This is completely normal. The 350z was the same way. Congrats on the purchase!

No. It's not that I mind the ride, it's that I just want to make sure there's not something wrong with it. It was inspected by tire kingdom and just needed new tires and brakes.

If the loudness is normal then I'm good to go.

It has a bumper to bumper still and powertrain.

Edit: wow I sound like such a noob. I just want some reasurance that eerythings ok.

i bought mine without test driving it first too but my first impression was about the visibility from the driver's seat. i could not see very well in the front, in the back, and on the sides (i used to drive a mb c320) but visibility doesn't faze me now

Can you describe what you're experiencing? In a Z that's 'fine', I'd expect most people to appreciate that it's a sports car and not be very shocked. You, however, seem completely shocked with your experience which makes me suspicious that something might be wrong. Maybe post a YouTube video...

Many threads on hear about the noise. Since it's built as a sports car, there is no sound deadening at all. Pull up the rear carpet and all you see is metal.'
Many of us have added Dynamat or something similar to reduce the noise. I did it to mine and it's much quieter.

So all those rock + sand hitting metal noise from rear wheel walls are normal?
the normal ride noise doesnt bother me, just when i go over roads somewhat covered with sand( roads are covered with sand b/c of snow+freezing temp) or those cement roads with pot holes breaking up.
when i go over them i cant really here anything, and i was wondering if these are also normal.

Only if you're driving through rocks and sand.

Yup. That's what drove me nuts. Dynamat got rid of all of that.

where did you apply? under the trunk mats or outside of car/inside wheel walls?
I think the right answer is putting it on the wheel wall(outside of the car/not under trunk), but just want to make sure.

Z noise is normal, the 370z offends slightly worse then the 350z. I can tell you this though I work for BMW as a tech, you coming from a E46 to a 370z the biggest differences will be a tighter/better handling and way more power then the M54B30 could muster. Biggest drawbacks would be overall visibility outside of the car and yes, it is obnoxiously noisy when driven 45+mph from road noise. This is corrected simply with a nice stereo system and exhaust. But most importantly, It aint a Bimmer, dont expect it to be quiet like one.

If the noise is bothering you, then you should have gone for the G37. Plus didn't you test drive it before you bought it?
