If not voiding the warranty is your rationale behind not modding the car but you're gonna do an oil cooler, you might as well do a cat-back, too, and really enjoy the way your car sounds!

What tires are on the car? A nice set of new tires will probably make you much happier in the noise department. If it's the stock tires they are loud. Much better can be had for grip and low noise. But I do see people not wanting to spend money so they put a stupid cheap crappy tire on the car and that may be your complaint with it.

the normal ride noise doesnt bother me, just when i go over roads somewhat covered with sand( roads are covered with sand b/c of snow+freezing temp) or those cement roads with pot holes breaking up. when i go over them i cant really here anything, and i was wondering if these are also normal. |

That's what the wife's Benz has. It's pretty effective!

This summer I want to do something about the road noise problem in my perfectly stock Z. The stock tires are too new to replace (only 5,000 easy mi.), so I'm considering Dynamat. The hatch area should be an easy place to start. But, unlike many trunks with a full, flat floor, ours is not. Question: Is the Dynamat one large piece attached to the underside of the cardboard cover or is custom cut to line the design of the metal?

I think the right answer is putting it on the wheel wall(outside of the car/not under trunk), but just want to make sure. |
