370Z or a Lotus Evora?

In this car and driver review the Evora is compared (briefly) to the Z, as well as the 911 and Cayman:

I've yet to see one in person, but am starting to wonder if it will be the car the replaces the Z (no plans to do this for a long time).

Anyone drive one of these when considering the Z?

If I were going to drop $75K on an Evora, I would hold off and drop a few grand more and get the Evora S.

For a 2+2 it is impressively light weight at 3050 lbs (roughly). With Lotus's chassis design and refined handling it is sure to be a nice ride, but hopefully it is not as fragile as the Elise/Exige.

Just put 15 grand into the Z and it will decimate all, if you have to you can overnight parts from Japan..

The Lotus line will be changing drastically in the relatively near future. I wouldn't buy one knowing what's just around the corner.

Sounds more comfortable as a DD though and a fun track car…….

cheaper than a new Porsche for the ~same 0-60 performance

…..tempting thought

I was looking at the Evora last month when I was buying my Z. It's a gorgeous car. Went for a test drive the whole driving feel feels really "tight". It's a great weekend / track car, but even less practical everyday than the Z.

I got the Z because price to performance, the Z proved to be better for the buck. And the fact that it's price categorizes it as "dispensable" in my case. I need a car that I can just park anywhere and not worry about it. Even if something happens to it, it's easily fixed.

I would worry about that, too. I'm jealous that you had the chance to drive one  It is such a pretty car, I'm sure I'll keep dreaming about one.

The Evora would definitely be a great weekend/track car for sure. I guess, depends on what your needs are and if you have another vehicle you could use as a DD.

It's hot but way out of the Z'z price range, so i would be hard pressed to compare them on a level playing field.

Gtr.

GRrrr to you too big boy, but i don't think this is the time or place for such things. :supergay:

i think there's a typo in the title of the thread. It should be "Two 370z or a Lotus Evora?" because realistically, you can buy two 370z for the price of one Evora :)

i would take two 370z in a second. I know you like the looks of the Evora but it doesn't do it for me.

I dont think its worth the extra 40k over the Z. Like what someone else said, just wait for the once coming out in a few years as they will be less expansive than the evora with better performance.

That right a 40th and a nismo, or just TT one Z amuse kit, wheels, and a unique paint job. :yum:
