well instead of spending close to 100k on evora, i'd rather get a GTR. And Evora beats 370z hands down....

Dreezy562 02-26-2011 01:56 PM

why dont you get a mustang

I can't get past the auto trans on the GT-R. Granted, I've never driven one so my mind might change if I did.

You guys are doing such a great job of spending the imaginary money I would spend on the Lotus!:icon17:

I watched the top gear episode where they raced the ferrari f430 and the mercedes-benz sls. the automatic gearboxes on those cars are not that easy to figure out (there are a lot of settings that need to be set for optimum performance) they gave up after a while. maybe the one on the GT-R is like that too :)

LuckyJinx 02-26-2011 02:04 PM

The GT-R is the best auto car I've driven. Its so fun! Ugh, if you won't buy it; I will! :p

I got the Z because price to performance, the Z proved to be better for the buck. And the fact that it's price categorizes it as "dispensable" in my case. I need a car that I can just park anywhere and not worry about it. Even if something happens to it, it's easily fixed.

agreed. i was looking into exiges...but the fact the car is so fragile turned me off. beautiful car, relatively well priced, and fast. but that fully fiberglass body scared the bejesus out of me. people would get into low speed 5mph or less collisions and have to replace half the body (since the elise/exige is made up of 2 fiberglass shells)

:icon18: No offense to the Mustang...it's a great muscle car, and the Boss will surely produce some converts. I'm not done with my sports car phase (which has been going on now for over 25 years, on and off).

And I have no immediate plans to get rid of the Z. I always have the next car in mind. I'm a bit of a car slut

no grunt

I love the exotic good looks of a Lotus.

They are just too impractical-

$75k is way too much

and when I upgrade I'll end up with even more torque

Nitrouz 02-26-2011 07:13 PM

Having owned the GTR for quite a while, I would take the Evora over it in a second. It literally was the boringest car to drive I have ever owned. The Evora is pretty much 180 degrees from that.

Try a 'vette if you haven't already. They have their upsides and downsides, but they are a unique experience and no journey through a "sports car phase" is complete without having owned one.

FWIW, the Boss qualifies as a sports car in my book, too, in the Leguna Seca edition sans back-seats.

I'll take it off your hands for cheep when you upgrade!

Are you talking boring for a DD? Or did you track Godzilla? I'd imagine that thing would be monstrous to toss around... :driving:

for $75,000 I would rather have the reliability of a porsche

optiontrader 02-28-2011 10:26 PM

Is the Evora's mill sourced from Toyota like the Elise? Pretty reliable, if the case (well, unless the accelerator goes nuts on you. :D ).

KaienZ34 02-28-2011 10:49 PM

Or the pedal gets "caught on the floor mat".:roflpuke2:

Yes, but $75K won't get you very far. Cayman S with decent amount of amenities is about as far as you will go. Buying used? I wouldn't unless it had a sick warranty left on it. They are good cars, but if they DO break...
