Default MPG on 370z??

might be a dumb question...
this is first time i bought a new car and owned manual.
So i just picked up 40th z yesterday and while i was driving back home(110 miles in highway) I set speed at 70mph and the trip computer gave me 21 mpg after 1 hr (I reset the mpg part while i was on highway).... will mpg improve as car breaks in more? (it only has 200 miles XD).

I tried search but couldnt find any

The MPG estimates are on the sticker, but if you're worried about gas mileage

you may not be allowing yourself to fully enjoy your Z!

Live a little and use that pedal on the right.

Once I got past break in I was able to enjoy the right pedal. 12.7 mpg last tank. I enjoyed it clearly. When I get 17 mpg driving has been poor at best. I rarely see the freeway.

Highest I've had on a tank with all highway driving was around 24 mpg. Average without pushing it probably around 22 mpg. Lowest mpg I've had on a tank was 16.

Wow, I got around 26 mpgs the last highway trip I took. I was going 65 for part of it, 60 when the speed limit dropped. I was impressed.

I don't even look at the mpgs for around town driving. I don't want to spoil my fun. When I have looked, it's been in the mid to upper teens.

When I bought mine last month (used w/ 15k miles) the drive home was 150 miles of pretty much all highway. I reset the mpg thing right when I left. I was driving at like 70 mph the whole time and by the time I got home, it read 29.9 mpg. The reading is usually off by about 1 mpg though. I average like 21-23 mpg combined.

To answer the question in the first post, though, yes, gas mileage improves greatly after break-in.

Mine went from 16mpg to 21mpg.

Feel free to look at mpg from every tank of gas, starting when the car was new. It doesn't look like my average mileage increased at all with breakin.

Odd. I've seen several that did steeply increase after breakin. Did you break in as suggested in the owner's manual? No hard launches, nothing over 4000 rpm?

I should also add that my own experience is just based on what the car told me. I haven't been tracking beyond that.

In case the obsessive tracking of mileage isn't enough to tip you off, yes I stringently adhered to the proper breakin procedure documented in the manual. Granted, I never got terrible mileage in the first place.

Those numbers are all based on my calculations, although the car's reading has always been within 0.5mpg at the very most.
