I disagree. Regardless of purpose, you either (a) like it and use it, (b) are ambivalent, or (c) dislike it. I'm actually glad that people are chiming in that they like using it for the purpose of locating their vehicle. I hadn't expected that.

I was expecting to hear more stories like the one about scaring the kids away from the car. That's, in theory, what the button is there for.

I'd rather not have it at all, or have it in such a way that it doesn't trigger accidentally so often.

I rarely use any of those buttons myself as I tend to just use the buttons on the doors and rear hatch.

Maybe i would use the panic button if I couldn't find my car in a large parking lot upon returning to the lot. But if that ever really happened I would more likely have to get my head examined and go purchase a skirt.

I'm very pleased with how this one has turned out so far. We've got a good sample. The overwhelming majority is ambivalent to the button, or as sonic370 said, "I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it." Second to that, a lot of folks just don't care for it. But there is a group of people who find it useful, and even some who don't find it useful have cited times when they've used it.

There's also a decent number of people who want bad things to happen to me.

I also learned that Belgian Z's don't have the panic button, and perhaps that's generalized to greater Europe??? I don't know. But that was interesting to learn.

Laugh? I'm sure that is real...
Just like in Switzerland, one of the buttons makes a corkscrew pop out.
