Just want to put this out there and hopefully the results can be forwarded to Nissan.

Even If you were going to get the Leaf, please check Question three.

How much does price play in to the purchase decision for you?

Intriguing poll. I don't have an answer, because I wouldn't buy a hybrid currently, but if the tech advances, or if our gas-based options disappear in the next decade, my opinion might change.

I want a light, powerful sports car that is nimble in turns. How it delivers that performance is secondary, but at current, hybrids don't deliver the goods for reasonable cost.

i have high respect for gas-only sports cars but we all need to evolve someday. and that might mean within the next 15yrs even exotics might be all hybrids.

As long as the performance and looks are still there, I don't care how it is powered.

I would consider it. Too many factors are involved to just say Yes or No.

Well, OP has to cover the alternate energy source spectrum, even though most electric is provided by coal, so really it'd be a coal-powered Z.

Well, except when they say "Hybrid" they are talking about the actual energy/fuel that is running the engine, not how that energy was produced in the first place.

Just nit-picking since the topic says "Hybrid". I'm really bored at work.

Almost totally depends on it's ability to perform (acceleration, handling, etc). W/o that data, can't make an informed decision.

Because it's the trendy thing to do.
Because it's a decision solely to save money on gas, who cares about the environment?
Because it's a false pretense that it's good for the environment.

Like it or not: The combustible engine as we know it is doomed!
