That hybrid motor I believe is based off of a VQ35DE motor, either that or a VQ35HR. I would not be interested unless it was a VQ37VHR Hybrid or at least an HR. DE motors FTL.

Nissan VQ engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Best, most reliable engine I've ever owned and doesn't use up any oil at all. I change the oil and 4000 to 5000 miles later, it's still topped off.

Niether my 350Z and now my 370Z burn a drop of oil. My Murano goes through about 1/2 quart every 4-5k miles.

Maybe not. But what we do know is that all 3 engines are being considered for the next Z which does leave that in the realm of possibilty. With all this CAFE bullcrap I expect to see a few of my fave cars get downsized. They are even talking about making a twin turbo v6 option on the corvette. All this go green crap is changing the way all car companies are doing business. So as corny as it would be for the Z to have 3 engine options. I can see it happen. Nissan has made some bad decisions over the last few years. The only good ideas they have had is the GT-R, 370 anf juke(though juke can't live up to its epa promises its still a design success). The biggest joke going now is the leaf and the G25. Altima, sentra and versa is now outdated by hyundai products and ford in overall value. And finally nissan is really talking hybrids and diesels as an engine for the Z. That would truly be sad.

I'll take it !
Currently have an 05 and love it--when the 370 arrived, I just didn't think it was enough of a change to merit trading mine in. If what I see is going to be the next Z--I'm in and ready right now !

Its just a sad day. I would rather just have a 370ZTT. since the Z represents a small portion of the stable, nissan really doesn't have to hybridize it since the CAFE regs apply to the entire manufacturers line average. Not only that, but they could just pay the fine too. I see ford doing nothing with the mustang and toyota could afford to sell a hummer h1 because of the priuses(priuii) priun)??) they sell.
At least thats how I understand it.

I love how the fog lights look on that new Z. I think it looks pretty good. When the 370z first came out I remember reading the 350z forums. There were some people bashing on the 370 saying it was butt ugly and whatnot. I guess some people just cant accept changes.
Me: When the 350 came out I loved it. I seriously wanted to buy it there and then but did not have the money to do so at the time. When the 370 came out I had enough money to buy. I tell other people sometimes that I am VERY glad I didnt buy the 350 because it looks ugly compared to the 370z. My opinion anyway. Not sure how Im going to feel when the new Z comes out. |

I searched and did not see already posted-
2013 "G37" to get 5.5L V8 AMG. Assume Z would follow same in 2014 like 08 G/ 09 Z 2013 Infiniti G Coupe - 2013 Infiniti G Coupe Future Car First Look on RoadandTrack.com In other markets, including the U.S., it will be available with the M Hybrid’s gas-electric system and AMG’s 5.5-liter V-8 that will produce upward of 360 bhp. The latter will most likely wear the IPL (Infiniti Perform*ance Line) badge and go after BMW 6 Series and Maserati GranTurismo customers. While the base G sedan is expected to come with a mid-$30,000 price tag, you can expect the hybrid version to be priced near $55,000 and the V-8-powered Coupe to cost around $70,000. There is the slight possibility that Infiniti will decide to build a coupe version of the M sedan, and place the V-8 (or even a more powerful engine, perhaps the 6.2-liter AMG V-8) under its hood. |
