Vette Owners Never Fail to Surprise Me...
Quote:
And this is why 95% of them watch NasCar and can't understand Formula1 and how a 3.5l V8 can make 800hp and rev to 19,000 rpm. I can understand someone wanting a V8. Wanting a American icon vehicle. Wanting to mature a bit and get away from the "Tuner" scene. But to say they didn't like the "high revs" has to be the gayest reason behind getting a different vehicle.

Sorry just ranting over the stupidness I see/read.
I agree 100%! But to say I didn't like ANY "performance" car due to it reving high is gay. "Wow look at the GSX-R 1300 Busa. Holy shyt its crazy fast! But I'm going to get a Harley cause I don't like how the Busa revs to 14k rpms.

This. I currently own two (older) Corvettes as well as the Z. Plus, go drive a C6 and then tell me if you can't feel the difference - there's way more low-revs torque in a Corvette than there is in the Z.

I gave up my RX-8 because I couldn't stand a 9000 RPM redline. All my friends with their 6000 RPM redlines would tease me terribly, telling me to go commit suicide doors.

Reving high is fun, but who doesn't want more torque at lower RPM's?
I get it. That said, it's not like you have to rev the Z all that high to get it moving...

It's not all vette driver, just this one guy's opinion.
The power delivery is different, and the v8 is torquier in the low rev range. But who cares? Both cars are fun, sleek, powerful sports cars. |
