I've had 2-3 370's get on my side, stare at me, and then take off.... I'm used to it. Like Christian said, theres gonna be a lot of people that drive our Z's, but don't know **** about them; only that they look cool.

Here in Kansas City, we have two Z clubs with members from all generations of Zs and it seems every Z I see waves back at me except when on the other lanes of the interstates with those damn concrete blocks dividing the highway it is hard to see them.

Honestly, yeah same here thought. Especially with people on base. I see a lot of 350Z drivers on base and whenever I pass them I give them a wave. Not a single one has ever waved back. One time I was sitting at a stop sign and a 300ZX driver passed me, older fella and He waved at Me. So I waved back. I consider it like this... Based on what I have seen. (So don't flame, this isn't an overall statement) but people who buy the car and do nothing to it, or people who buy the convertible and do the same, only buy the car to 'have the car'. These are not enthusiasts like ourselves who like the Z for more than just a namesake. Again, this is NOT all inclusive. This is just from what I have seen in my area. And looking from the exterior a car may be stock, but inside its completely different so for those looking to stay stock on the outside, this is not a hit at you. But also overall, any 350Z driver I see in my local area, typically never waves. Be I see them at an intersection, on a street, or on the highway, no matter what their modding is be it stock of 15k invested, none ever wave. I don't know why, I've just noticed this. And the same thing applies with G35/37 drivers here as well too. I know they are our cousins so I'll throw them a wave too... Of course they may just be thinking "Who's this ******* I don't even know that's waving at me?!" But still, just out of common courtesy, if someone waves at me, I'll wave back just to prevent possible road rage. Again I'll say none of my comments are to be taken out of context and are not meant to slam anyone for any reason. Just my I have noticed here in my area. Please no flame.

I've waved at a few on post and got the "I'm too cool for you" look. I thinks that even worst because we've already got 2 thing in common love for the Z and in the military.

Oh and as far as the GTR owners are concerned I was driving with my wife in my Z when a black one came on the highway. He had a huge smile when my wife went to take a picture. He must have gotten a kick out of it.

It's not really a wave anymore. It's more like the head nod from Zs and Gs but revving from the mitsu and subaru guys. Hmmm I wonder what they mean???

A couple weeks ago I walked out to the Z, parked far away from the crowd. The only car next to me was a red 280Z. I think my Z is pregnant now. Does anyone want to adopt a 325Z?

Sometimes people could just be paying attention to the road, but doesn't seem like it. Another thing that I've noticed is that people really don't like to be passed/overtaken, I almost always get head shakes or horn honks if they happen to catch up at a light or something |

A lot of people that drive Z cars tend to be douchebags. It comes with the territory of an inexpensive sports car. The vette gets a lot of those types too.
I also don't think a failure to wave to another vehicle like yours automatically makes you a jerk. It's not like there's a real tight community built around Z cars. I mean, there is one, but it doesn't really include everyone. Fail to wave on bike, or in a Jeep, and you're a douche. The Z wave gets classed in with things like the Subie wave, or the vette wave. A lot of people do it, but a lot of people don't know about it. |
