Douchbaggery among 370z drivers???
Saw a 370z today. It was a black base coupe. He pulled out of the plaza at hwy7 and woodbine right in front of me. I was right behind him for a short distance then overtook him on the right lane and as i was passing i honked and waved my hand in greeting. The guy totally ignored me!!!!! I then had to stop at the redlight on warden and as he caught up to me he was in the far left lane to make a left turn and he still acted like I didnt even exist!!!!!!
I can understand such douchebaggery from gtr owners with a superiority complex or 350z owners with an inferiority complex. But a fellow 370z owner? Has anyone experienced something like his before? I mean a 370z driver refusing to exchange greetings or complements.

You'd never get such rude behavior here in the states!
I think that is appalling. I don't understand those who buy a car like ours and aren't passionate about ownership, or don't understand the connection to other owners. That is very different from my experience. I've encountered one 350 and one 370 owner around here. Got a wave and thumbs up from both. If you see that guy again, yell out "Hey Summer's Eve, get a Beamer!"

Maybe he had more important **** on his mind besides noticing there was someone driving the same car as the one next to him. Just sayin'.

I wish we were more like the Subaru community, my friend has been driving Subarus for awhile but he just picked up a 2004 STi. We drove around yesterday and its amazing how many Subie drivers of all models saluted, pointed and waved! Even chicks got into it, I wish the Z community was like that because it makes the ownership experience all that more fun.

Well trust me...My waves and thumbs up hardly get noticed.I get ignored a lot even from z32 owners! I don't even try anymore(seeing as how some people don't know their Z car history or just a douchebag). Every now and then a 350Z or 370Z owner will realize my car is Z31 and they'll either pull up besides and wave. I do too wish the Z community was more of a family.

Around here people seem to wave or give the one up finger (not the middle). Unless there 40+ years old. They probably don't know what's up anyways. I think some people just don't know how to act or respond towards strangers. Seems to go on alot lately with this society.

I had only owned my 370 for two days when a fellow owner pulled up next to me as I left a restaurant and came over for a quick chat.
Turns out they were a member of this forum and had seen the pics of my car I had posted earlier that same day. That was two weeks ago and I've only seen two other 370s since then and didn't really get any acknowledgment from neither, although I admit I didn't really try. But I must say I've really been enjoying the enthusiast-led community of the Z, it's made owning one a lot more fun. Maybe it's just being on this forum rather than the ownership community as a whole. I dunno. I'm looking forward to meeting the Vegas Z club which I'm yet to do. Unfortunately, you also have to realize that the majority of 370z owners are not enthusiasts but just bought the car because it looks cool and is quick. These people are not going to expect enthusiasts like you or I because they are not interested in the social aspects of owning a Z unfortunately.
I always try to wave at any 370z I see but I rarely see them on the road in my area.

Maybe its just a Z thing or something. If you own a boat and your out on the lake it is considered damn rude not to wave. When i had my vette most all vette
guys would wave back. most consider it rude when you didn't. well at least this forum has some class. most members are pretty cool..... |
