Does anyone want to adopt a 325Z? :icon14:

That's illegal, that 280 should not be messing with little girls.

I think that some people just get the car because they saw it, liked it and bought it. They don't know nor care about the history of the Z car like we enthusiasts do. That's why they are like :ugh2: when we wave. I got a thumbs up about two days ago and I went :excited::excited::excited::excited: :rock::rock: :woot::woot: :D:D

Haha that's true.

When I compliment someone about his or her car, I usually get one of three things:
1. Get ignored.
2. They want to race me so they speed off.
3. They say thanks.

Strange, I've gotten waves and the headlight flash from other 370z owners traveling I the opposite lane. Whenever I catch up to another one traveling in the same direction, nothing. This happened more than once and it wasnt like I was trying to race with any of them. Some people waving is better than none. Having an rx8, I know for a fact, I didn't get a single wave or anything from other rx8 owners.

in defense of the people who didn't wave back, if you have your stereo on high volume and are focusing on the traffic up ahead, it could be difficult noticing a friendly wave. by the time you notice it, it could be too late :)

I don't wave bc most of the time my tinted windows are up.

Had a old lady with white hair wave to me in a 350z roadster. I dam sure waved back extra hard hahah. I almost didnt go for the wave when i saw the white hair.

Cool guy head nod, enough said.

On the third day of ownership, I remember seeing a MB Z right next to me. I waved but he just ignored me. I felt really silly not being acknowledged, so I just turned up my music and gunned it on the freeway on-ramp.

Fast forward to a week ago, I was cruising home from a friend's house when a Z33 vert pulled right up right next to me and both the driver and passenger waved at me. So I waved back.

The lesson: I will only return gestures of acknowledgment as long as they are initiated by the other driver, regardless of what car they drive.

I've had both what would appear to be not noticing me or the thumbs up or hand wave. Had them from Z owners, a Viper owner and others. I say people shouldn't get bent out of shape over it. There is a good community of Z owners and other just plain car enthusiasts. Keep waving and it'll catch on. Certainly don't fee stupid if you wave and people ignore you. You never know what the other person has going on in their Z!

mixed bag for me, most 370s I've seen will wave and then probably a little more than half of the 350s I've seen will wave. I know one time I was in my own little world and didnt notice another 370 driving right next to me in the left lane. I could tell someone was there lurking but I didn't feel like looking bc I figured it was some kid in a civic trying to race. The guy then honked and proceeded to move on down the road, at which point I realized it was another 370. So yeah in my attempt to not be a douche I ended up feeling like a douche anyway...

I can understand such douchebaggery from gtr owners with a superiority complex or 350z owners with an inferiority complex. But a fellow 370z owner?

Has anyone experienced something like his before? I mean a 370z driver refusing to exchange greetings or complements.

Perhaps you need to relax a bit. Not everyone who buys a 370z is a enthusiast and on this forum. Some people just got it as a mid life crisis car, or cus it looked good. And they dont care who else drives the same car or any other car for that matter

Plus as some people said maybe he was busy

I was drivig home the other day and a 350z was next to me for a bit. I was on the phone with kevr6 and didnt notice him. He had rolled his windoe dwn and everything. I told kev gotta go so i dont look like a jerk and shoukd respond to him but was too late, he rolled up his windows and flew past. Was i being a douchebag? No... I was simply preoccupied.

You guys that are "too busy" to notice need to focus on what's going on outside the car more. ;)

Cunnos 02-21-2011 08:44 AM

i think its an age thing, the older guys dont want to be disturbed while driving, while the 20-30 year olds like to give a wave and say whats up. Old people are boring drivers

Maybe we are focused more on what the car's themselves are doing, and not the idiots inside them. :p

Along with abject stupidity, ignorance and arrogance!
