Given the time of day, it seems less likely (but always possible) that alcohol or drugs would be a major player for the truck jumping lanes. A blown left front tire could definitely do it, but I suppose we'll never know with that kind of fire damage. While being a Urologist doesn't make me an expert in the type of bone you broke, I'd bet money that you'll be back in the helo in a couple months.

No car is safe when it's engulfed in flames like that. Unless you escape before the fire breaks out. I'm shocked that the larger vehicle was the one that had the fatalities and not the smaller car. Regarding the accident, something had to have happened to the truck occupants or the truck itself to cause this. Give Gary Spivey a call and ask about why this happened, 1-800-827-GARY .

Sorry to hear what happened.
I hope you have a speedy recovery and get back to a normal life as soon as possible. being a victim of a serious accident can change your life, and speaking from experience I will tell you this. get a lawyer asap, this case can bring you in 7 to 8 figures. Glad to hear you are safe OP.
I'm curious if you can share with us how well the Z held up on the inside (how collapsed it was) and if you can remember, how well do you think the airbags worked. The pics didn't really show the drivers space after the collision so I thought I ask. Wish you better luck in your new Z

Actually, the airbags did their jobs just fine. I've got a couple of scrapes on my face from where my glasses where. I'm pretty sure my right hand was pushed upward, away from the steering wheel, pushing it up through the windshield. My right middle and ring finger has some pretty decent abrasions.
I've got a few new pictures today from the wrecker yard. My daughter went by to see if my backpack survived in the truck. I'll get those uploaded as soon as I can. |

Yea looks like the fire did most of that damage. I would salvage the tail lights and emblem.

Forget the tail lights. They'll have heat damage...that car is a s'more now. The emblem is salvageable, but honestly, who cares. Insurance will have Sundown a new Z in no time. Sport package this time!
